When we got to the restaurant, Milo was already waiting.

Milo was quiet for a moment, then suddenly his voice got self–righteous.[]

I was confused for a second, then he pulled out his phone to show me photos.[]

I kept twisting the knife.
“Even if Oliver and I really got together, it happened after you guys cheated. Who do you think the judge will have more sympathy for?“]
Milo’s face turned ashen: “You… you bitch!“]
“Name–calling’s pretty lame.“[]
Oliver finally spoke up.[]
“You made your choices, now deal with the consequences.“[]
I mentally applauded Oliver. Perfectly said.[]
“Bro… are you really gonna do this to me?” Milo’s tone softened.]
“Do what to you?” Oliver shot back.[]
“Did I fuck your wife, or did I force you to cheat?”
Milo was completely speechless.
Watching him get shut down felt incredibly satisfying.
I stood up: “If that’s all, we’re leaving.“]
Milo just sat there looking completely stunned as we walked out.]
In the car, Oliver asked: “Feel good?“]]
I nodded: “Really good.“]
“He’s gonna keep causing trouble.“]
I smiled: “That’s fine. I’ll shut him down every time until he’s too scared to try.“[]
Oliver glanced at me: “You’ve gotten pretty bold.“[]
“Not bad, right? I’ve got backup now.” I shrugged.]
Oliver didn’t say anything, just smiled slightly.[]
I leaned back in my seat, feeling warm inside.]]
