Beatriz was taken aback and quickly pushed her away, retreating as she said, “What are you talking about? I don’t understand!”
Vanessa gave a slight cold smile. “Since you don’t understand, I won’t bother explaining further,” she said, preparing to roll up the window and drive away. Halfway through, she suddenly remembered something and added, “By the way, I believe you know that both our companies successfully entered the second round of the bidding. See you then.”
With a casual smile and bright eyes, she rolled up the window and drove away.
Left behind, Beatriz stomped her feet in anger.
“This is what you’ve forced me into, Vanessa!” With hatred in her eyes, she had originally just wanted to keep Vanessa away from Luca, perhaps letting her off the hook, but now it
seemed this woman couldn’t be spared!
HM Group’s President Office.
“Is the recent news about VH your doing?” The short, plump man glared at Beatriz, his face twisted with rage, but he didn’t dare touch her.
Beatriz looked at him with disdain, frowning as she replied, “You’re the president of VH. If something goes wrong, why are you asking me?”
“Who else knows about the stock issues besides you?!”
“I warned you last time to keep things clean; now that trouble has arisen, you blame me?”
Beatriz had initially planned to clear her name, but things had developed much faster than expected. If she didn’t extricate herself from this situation quickly, the fallout would be too wide–reaching, and it would only be a matter of time before someone uncovered the clues.
“What do we do now? Mariah is already being monitored by the police investigation team; I

can’t get to her!” The short man’s face trembled with agitation, but his helpless demeanor
left Beatriz utterly disappointed. 1.
“Then shift the blame entirely onto her!”
“But…”
Seeing the short man hesitate, Beatriz reminded him, “Weren’t you planning to make her the scapegoat from the beginning? Why are you regretting it now?”
The short man seemed to ponder this, but for the sake of his future carefree life, he firmly declared, “Then we’ll go according to the original plan!”
Only then did Beatriz reveal a smile, standing up to pat his shoulder, saying, “I didn’t realize that a president who usually just eats, drinks, and plays would be so decisive in a
crisis. Well done!”
The short man nodded with a beaming smile, fully aware that Beatriz’s words were laced with sarcasm.
“Don’t you think you should act quickly before this blows up?”
The short man’s expression remained grim as he wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
“Understood.”
But that very night, the police received an anonymous tip.
Inside were documents revealing VH Group’s accounting fraud and substantial evidence of
fund transfers, enough for the police to launch an investigation into the entire VH Group.
er surveillance, was also brought into the interrogation room for questioning.
you have to say about the asset transfers of VH Group?”
Mariah shook her head and replied, “I don’t know; it has nothing to do with me.”
“You say it has nothing to do with you, so how do you explain this matter?”

A document was placed in front of her, detailing the discovery of a new energy warehouse, accompanied by several photos.
She finally told the truth and submitted all the evidence she had discovered regarding VH Group to the police, helping them solve the case.
The only regret was that Beatriz had escaped quickly and hadn’t been implicated in the slightest, managing to extricate herself smoothly.
Recently, the hottest news wasn’t about a celebrity’s scandal or a celebrity couple; instead, it was about the economic news surrounding VH Group, which involved over a hundred million in misappropriated funds.
In court, Mariah appeared with her lawyer and evidence, cooperating with the police to take down the other economic crime syndicates led by VH Group.
The entire VH Group became a typical example of economic crime, and the economic underbelly of this listed company finally came to light.
A few days later.
Outside the police station, Vanessa stood by her car, waiting for Mariah to come out.
“Thanks to your evidence, we were able to catch those people in one fell swoop. In the
future, if something like this happens again, be sure to contact us immediately, and we will
guarantee your safety.”
Mariah looked unwell. “Okay, I understand.” Her voice was weak as she responded.
“Your friend has come to pick you up; hurry and go back to rest well.”
Upon hearing this, Mariah turned her head and, seeing Vanessa, didn’t look too pleased. She simply nodded and walked towards her.
The two exchanged a glance for a moment, then Mariah opened the passenger door, got in,
and closed it with a huff, effectively cutting off Vanessa’s words.

Inside the car, Mariah closed her eyes to rest, looking reluctant to speak.
Throughout the drive, Vanessa didn’t disturb her and simply drove straight back to her
home.
“Your house is probably already being watched; stay at my place for now, and once this
blows over, you can return.”
“Okay.”
“I have a child at home, but she’s very obedient and won’t disturb you.“.
“Okay.”
Mariah maintained her cold expression and went to bed as soon as they arrived home, appearing quite exhausted.
“Ha ha ha… Mommy, look at this… whoosh… so amazing!”
“Isla, stop making noise; there’s an auntie resting.”
“Auntie?” Isla asked, tilting her head in confusion. “Doesn’t the auntie have a home? Why does she need to rest at our house?”
Vanessa heard this and pulled Isla aside to explain, “No, it’s because the auntie helped Mommy, and now she’s being targeted by bad people, so she can’t go home.”
“Oh, I see! Then I will love this auntie very, very much!”
“Oh, Isla is so great!”
Mariah was awakened by the sounds of laughter outside, and her mood, which had been
terrible, unexpectedly lightened when she heard the conversation between Vanessa and
Isla.

dinner, she found herself standing at the door, staring wide–eyed at Mariah.
Isla’s innocent and clear big eyes made Mariah feel shy. “Hi… I…”
In an instant, Isla ran off, happily shouting, “Mommy, the auntie is so beautiful—”
With that shout, Mariah’s cheeks flushed even redder.
