After Ethan left, Nathan showed me the footage of Ethan torturing Jessica in Las Vegas.
There was a hint of jealousy in his voice as he spoke carefully, “Emily, don’t let him fool you. A man like that will chew you up and spit you out.”
I burst out laughing, my eyes sparkling.
“We’re already married. Did you really think I’d go back to him? I’d rather stay single for life than ever be with someone like him again.”
Nathan let out a relieved sigh and pulled me into his arms. He rested his head on my shoulder and murmured, “I’m glad you feel that way.”
The next day, breaking news hit the media.
Footage of Ethan brutalizing Jessica in Vegas had
gone viral.
The FBI raided his family’s assets, freezing everything.

He scowled playfully, gritting his teeth.
“I’ve been in love with you since we were kids. How did you not know?”
I blinked. “Wait… really?”
His mother laughed, taking the baby from my arms.
“Of course you didn’t know. This boy cried every day in school, begging us to let him date you.
We had to send you both to different boarding schools just to keep you apart.”
Liam shot her a betrayed look. “Mom, I almost lost her because of that!”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I threw myself into his arms.
“You never could’ve lost me. I was always yours.”
