Chapter 31
Drove all the way to the Peterson’s Manor.
The butler stood at the entrance, constantly looking around.
The familiar car drove in, and the butler displayed a happy smile.
He ran over and opened the car door, greeting, “Mr. Reed.”
called out, and then he looked towards Evelyn coming down from the other side, and smiled with narrowed eyes, “This must be Ms. Gomez, right? Mr. Reed
You were often mentioned.
Evelyn was infected by his smile and responded with a genuine smile. Confused, she asked in
response to the butler’s words, “What did Mr. Peterson mention about me?”
Reed gave a slight cough, and the butler was about to speak but swallowed it back, immediately
changing the subject, “You’ll know later, so go inside first. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson are in there.”
Evelyn was about to go and get the gift box, but when she turned around, the servants had already
taken them all and were standing on the side.
She sighed with emotion, speed!
Walking into the villa, the interior was decorated with luxurious antiques.
I had eaten with Reed’s parents before, but this was the first time coming to the Peterson’s Manor,
and I didn’t expect it to be so exaggerated.
Evelyn stood a little further away silently, as she couldn’t afford to pay for it if it got damaged.
As soon as I entered the living room, I saw Reed’s parents sitting on the sofa, chatting and laughing.
Hearing the sound, the elderly couple turned their heads and greeted, “Son, you’re back.”
Reed’s mother took a step forward and looked around at Evelyn, furrowing her brows with concern. She said, “Evelyn, why have you lost weight again? You should eat more.‘
Evelyn reached out and gently grasped Reed’s mother’s hand, and said softly, “Then I will eat a little more later, Auntie. What are we having for dinner today?”
“Today is all your favorite food,” Reed’s mother patted Evelyn’s hand, her eyes filled with a smile.
Internally, however, there was anxiety. It had been two years since Reed started pursuing love, but

he still hadn’t succeeded.
Dinner was indeed sumptuous, and Evelyn’s gracious and elegant conversation made Reed’s father nod repeatedly.
He nodded and affirmed, “Yes, the future plan is good, but it is important to avoid being arrogant and impatient, and instead proceed steadily and securely.”
Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief, having finished discussing business, she could finally grab a bite to
eat.
Just as Reed had taken a few bites, Reed’s mother’s enthusiasm came.
She put a plate of fish and chips into Evelyn’s bowl and greeted, “Evelyn, have some more.”
Evelyn hesitated for a moment, Reed’s mother was very welcoming, but she really didn’t like the
food.
Not knowing how to start, I was about to brace myself and eat, when a hand reached out.
“Mom, Evelyn doesn’t really eat fish and chips, I’ll have it,” Reed said calmly as he moved the dish
in front of himself.
Evelyn looked over and even blinked.
Evelyn smiled knowingly.
Reed’s mother realized, “Oh, I forgot to ask if you have any dietary restrictions, Evelyn. Feel free to .
eat as if it were your own home.”
Evelyn immediately felt a little embarrassed and nodded with a smile.
Evelyn was fed a lot of delicious food and she ate quite a bit. After finishing her meal, she sat on the
sofa to aid digestion.
Reed’s mother’s enthusiasm returned, and not long after sitting down, a variety of fruits were
brought to the table.
Evelyn’s smile was somewhat stiff.
I really couldn’t eat anymore.
I was about to politely decline when my gaze accidentally glanced at the photo wall, and my attention was drawn away.
Reed’s mother followed her gaze and a hint of nostalgia appeared in her eyes as she softly said,

“This was Reed and Hannah.”
“When I was a child, I never imagined that I would grow up so quickly.”
Immediately, a thought came to mind and the tone changed, exclaiming indignantly, “These two guys are both troublemakers, they still haven’t gotten married until now.”
Evelyn could only advise from the side, “Maybe she hasn’t met the right person.”
Reed’s mother glanced and whispered, “Evelyn, what did you think of my son?”
