Chapter 36
Half a month passed in the blink of an eye.
In order to work on the project, everyone exerted all their strength.
The Easter Group started the formal bidding process.
The bad news was that the Wilson Group went public for competition.
The good news is that the Easter Group had more contact with the Peterson Group.
During this period, Martin did not look for her again.
This relieved Evelyn, who decided to settle the accounts properly after the project ended.
By the deadline for bidding, Evelyn double–checked everything again and, in order to avoid any
mistakes, decided to personally deliver the documents.
The road was so congested that the traffic was at a standstill, and even the early spring breeze
couldn’t extinguish the restlessness in people’s hearts.
As soon as we finally got through this congested road section, without even having a chance to
catch our breath, a white car suddenly rushed past from the side.
Evelyn suddenly turned the steering wheel, with a loud “bang“, the impact made Evelyn uncontrollably lunge forward.
Fortunately, her car was not driving fast, and she narrowly avoided a close call.
The white car, after colliding with Evelyn’s car head–on, crashed straight into a utility pole.
The crowd gathered around, with some people calling for help and others making phone calls.
She took a deep breath and, belatedly, her hand began to tremble.
The car window was knocked, and a kind–hearted man hurriedly asked, “Miss, are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
The stranger’s concern warmed her heart, and her cold hands and feet gradually warmed up.
She smiled and gestured that everything was fine.
After getting off the car, she saw the accident scene was very severe, only after turning on the hazard warning lights.
The white car almost crashed into the utility pole at high speed, causing the entire front of the car

to be crooked.
The people in the car were covered in blood, their life and death uncertain.
Evelyn stared blankly and dared not drive again.
Make a phone call to ask the assistant to bring another copy and go ahead, and stay in place to wait for the traffic police to handle it.
The ambulance and police car arrived quickly, and the person was lifted onto the ambulance and taken away.
A traffic police officer quickly dealt with the vehicles and approached Evelyn, saying, “Ms. Gomez, did you feel unwell?”
Evelyn shook her head and said, “I dodged in time and didn’t get hurt.”
“Okay, then please go to the police station and make a statement.”
She sat in the police car, thought for a moment, and then called Reed.
The phone was quickly connected, and Evelyn hesitated for a moment before speaking in a low voice, “Reed, I just had a car accident.”
There was immediately a commotion on the other end of the phone, “What? Evelyn, are you okay?”
“I was fine, just a minor scratch.”
There came a hurried breath from the other end of the phone, clearly running, “Where are you? I’m
coming to find you.”
“Slow down, don’t rush, I was at the police station.”
After giving the address, Evelyn hung up the phone.
After completing a simple record, the traffic police officer stated that he was not at fault. The white car, driven by a drunk driver, caused the accident, and he was an innocent victim of the collision.
During the conversation, Reed came running in, panting heavily.
Looking at the intact Evelyn in front of him, Reed took a step forward and held her tightly without
revealing any gaps.
The traffic police walked away with understanding.
Reed was covered in sweat, and his strong embrace brought Evelyn a lot of comfort.

Evelyn hugged him back and soothingly patted his back.
After a while, Reed finally let go of her. There was a hint of fear in his eyes as he reached out and touched Evelyn’s face. His voice was hoarse and deep as he said, “I will be the one driving from now on, that was terrifying.”
Evelyn smiled and remained silent.
I could only hug him tightly again, making him feel my presence.
In front of the police station.
Martin, who hurriedly arrived, looked at the scene in front of him and felt a sharp pain.
Evelyn…
He was late again this time…
His heart felt as if it were blocked, causing intense pain. Has his wound not healed yet? Why is it hurting so much?
