“We can’t go back anymore, brother.”
Ivy could only, and also wanted to answer him like this.
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone.
Listening to his rapid breathing, Ivy knew that he had reached the brink of a breakdown.
She didn’t want to anger him, provoke him to go crazy and ruin this home.
So in the end, she pleaded with him in an incredibly sincere tone.
“Please spare my mother, she really hasn’t done anything, brother. She has devoted herself to you, to your father, and to this family. She just wants to have a stable and peaceful happiness. Please let her go.”
The flames of hatred that had long been entwined in Rod’s heart slowly extinguished in this choked
tone.
A sense of confusion and illusion, as if waking up from a deep dream, slowly spread from his heart
to the surroundings.
He was trapped in confusion, unable to understand what he had loved and what he had hated all
these years.
Like seeing flowers in the mist, like trying to scoop the moon in the water.
Rod held his phone and stood alone on the balcony for a long time.
It was not until Ivy’s mother knocked on the door that he suddenly woke up.
As soon as he caught sight of her, his eyes instinctively started to avoid her.
Ivy’s mother handed her a cup of coffee as usual, with a caring tone in her voice.
“Did you have a fight with Ivy? She doesn’t want to leave home either, she just wants to go out and explore more, after all, she’s still young. Don’t blame her either, she knows you’re busy and she’s afraid you’ll worry, that’s why she told us not to tell you.”
Listening to her incessant consolation, Rod just made a sound of agreement and returned the phone to her, intending to leave.
He really didn’t know how to face Ivy’s mother, so he could only avoid being around her.

“Rod, your birthday is coming up soon. How do you want to celebrate? Do you want to be with friends or should I organize something?”
After a roller–coaster morning, Rod had already put this matter behind him.
He never expected that the only person who said they would help him celebrate his birthday would be the person he used to dislike the most.
At that moment, he felt a mix of emotions in his heart, but he still politely declined.
“No, I had to go to Lysmeria in the afternoon.”
“Lysmeria?”
Upon hearing her perplexed question, Rod, afraid that she would doubt, hastily added a sentence.
“Go… find my mother.”
The little incident at night made Ivy not sleep well for the rest of the night.
When the alarm clock rang, she still forced herself to get out of bed.
After all, she didn’t want to leave a bad impression since she was in someone else’s house.
She waited for her to finish washing up and come downstairs, only to find the living room empty,
with no one there.
Did the Woods family wake up early or did they plan to sleep in?
Ivy was a little confused for a moment.
She was thinking about taking a walk outside when suddenly someone appeared and startled her.
Seeing her, Bruce slightly nodded and then handed over the breakfast he was holding.
“Just arrived in Soltharion and already waking up so early? Has the jet lag improved?”
Ivy patted her chest, hesitated for a few seconds, and then took the breakfast and sat down.
“Almost done, where are your parents? Did they go out?”
Bruce turned around and went back to the kitchen. He brought out another serving and placed a
glass of juice in front of her before finally answering her.
“They haven’t woken up yet, they won’t wake up until after ten o’clock. You don’t need to worry

This casual style really matched the atmosphere of their family.
Ivy also understood and planned to set the morning alarin to nine o’clock.
After finishing their breakfast quietly, the two of them, she looked at Bruce and asked tentatively.
“Today was the weekend, did you have time? I wanted to go and have a look at the apartment over there.”
Bruce nodded knowingly.
