The doctor that Axel found applied ointment to me.
“Hiss.”
The sound of me hissing made Reagan and Axel look as if they were about to kill someone. “You can’t even do something as simple as applying ointment properly?”
The doctor’s hands shook with fear.
I pretended to glare at Axel and Reagan.
“Selina…..”
“Mom…”
The father and son immediately looked at me pleadingly.
I sighed helplessly. “Alright, alright. The doctor is helping me. Don’t do that.”
After I calmed them down, the doctor relaxed significantly.
After the examination and cleaning were completed, he slowly said to Axel, “Mr. Grey, Mrs. Grey is alright. There’s nothing wrong with the baby she’s carrying either. However, the injury on Mrs. Grey’s hand is quite serious. I’ll find the best medicine and try my best to leave no scars.”
Axel remained quiet. Only I knew that this was a sign of his anger.
Levi, the chief culprit, was a little nervous. After all, he never expected the girl who had always simped over him to become the
wife of his boss.
Seeing Axel so intimate with me, he felt a nameless sense of rage. That vague possessiveness reached its peak, but he had to contain his temper for the future of Salfolk Group.
Axel stood beside me, exuding authority as he stared at the guests. He looked so serious, but I found him cute. Reagan, who looked exactly like him, was also standing next to me. The more I watched, the more amused I was.
“I hope you’ll tell me what happened over these past few days. If I investigate it myself, those present may end up miserably,”
Axel warned.
It was a blatant threat.
Everyone present had attended the banquet to gain Axel’s favor. It was not a wise move to offend Axel for Levi.
Flustered, Levi spoke first. “Mr. Grey, this is all a misunderstanding. As Selina’s fiancé, I just went over to her to catch up on old times. Who knew that an accident would happen?”
Levi spoke with a hint of jealousy that he never noticed. Mentioning our past engagement to Axel would be suicide at a time like this, but men had a strange need to win. It was what Levi was like.
Even if he dumped me, I had to return to his side as long as he needed me. I also had to remain faithful to him while we were apart. He always thought I would love him as always.
Levi did not notice Axel’s expression, but I heard the sound of the glass in Axel’s hand cracking.
