Chapter 9
Levi’s shamelessness was eye-opening.
Axel’s blood was on my body, but Axel burst out laughing when he saw how worried I was for him.
I glared at him somewhat angrily. “Why are you laughing?”
Axel reached out with his other uninjured hand and rubbed the top of my head.
“Selina, you said that I’m the only one you will ever love.”
The corner of Reagan’s mouth twitched. His father, who dominated the business world, was clingy like a bashful lady. It was hard to watch.
The guests at the scene were shocked, but more envious.
“Selina made Mr. Grey this way.”
“Mr. Grey’s persona as a doting husband was real.”
Seeing that I ignored him, Levi was a little furious and clenched his fists.
Reagan did not indulge Levi. “Nanny? My mom is a princess at home. Who do you think you are? My mom only has two children, me and my sister. How dare your bastard be her child?!
“I’ve heard about you. How can a scumbag like you who broke my mom’s heart dare to compare yourself to my dad? You’re not as handsome as my dad, not as tall as my dad and not as well-built as my dad.”
Reagan looked at Levi with disdain before pinching his nose. “And you smell so poor that I can’t open my eyes. Is your bastard child also a coward who relies on women like you?”
The guests around us laughed.
Levi bit his lower lip hard and his chest heaved violently because of shame and anger.
Everyone knew that he relied on the Limmons’ resources to reach his current position.
Rosalie had lost her mind. Her son was the best in the world. She thought Levi would make me a nanny, but he actually wanted me to replace her as her son’s mother.
Jealousy took over her reason. Rosalie picked up the fork next to her and rushed toward Reagan frantically. “You little bastard.
I’ll kill you.”
The severe pain from my back made me turn pale. “Reagan, are you…” I fainted before I could even ask if Reagan was okay.
Just when Rosalie rushed to Reagan, I let go of Axel and hurriedly protected Reagan.
When I turned unconscious, I saw Reagan’s panicked face. I wanted to tell him not to cry, but I lost consciousness before I could speak.
The smell of disinfectant in the hospital made me open my eyes. I looked at the hospital gown I was wearing and felt a little
dazed.
My best friend, Julia Lexis, was delighted to see me wake up and immediately hugged me. “Selina, you’re finally awake. If you didn’t wake up, your two devils would have turned Adamburg upside down.”
I found her description exaggerated. I subconsciously touched my belly and looked at Julia with a worried look.
She understood what I meant before I could speak. “Don’t worry. You and your baby are fine. The doctor said you only fainted because of the shock and pain from the wound. That Rosalie is so vicious. She actually attacked a child.”

The mention of Reagan made my heart leap into my throat again. I immediately asked, “How’s my son and Axel?”
My voice was a little hoarse, perhaps from lying still for too long. I started coughing non-stop after speaking suddenly.
Julia quickly gave me water and patted my back. “Don’t worry, they’re okay. Take it easy. No one’s going to take your drink. You were too reckless! With all those bodyguards, there’s no way Reagan would have gotten hurt. You didn’t need to jump in front of
him.”
