“He’s just so charming. Every little gesture pulls me in. I can’t stop watching him,” Sienna gushed, pressing a hand over her heart like a girl in love.
“I check his social media every day. I even go to the gym just to run into him. You should see how good he looks in a suit. I really, really like him. But I’m too scared to tell him. What should I do?”
“Leo Lincoln really is attractive,” Xena said with a gentle smile. “But don’t worry, Sienna. I’m sure he’ll like you too.”
“Do you really think so?” Sienna’s voice softened with doubt.
She had always been proud and confident, but in front of the man she liked, a hint of insecurity crept in. After all, falling for her brother’s best friend made her feel embarrassed.
Xena studied her for a moment, then said with a reassuring smile, “You’re beautiful. What man wouldn’t like you? Who knows –maybe he’s already noticed you.”
Sienna was visibly pleased by the compliment and looped her arm through Xena’s. “Okay, then what about you? When are you going to tell my brother how you feel?”
Xena’s smile faltered slightly. “Your brother and I… we’re only ever going to be friends.”
Sienna looked upset. “Don’t say that. I know my brother likes you.
Then, with a flash of frustration, she added, “It’s not like he asked that woman to come take care of him back then. And after everything, she used some overnight hospital records to win sympathy? She totally took advantage of him. My brother was just too young to see through it. Honestly, just look at her background. She’s not even in the same league as him.”
Xena gave a chuckle. “There’s no point bringing that up now. I’ve accepted it.”
“No, you’re not allowed to just accept it,” Sienna said firmly. “If you really love my brother, then fight for him. Anyone with eyes can see you’re a hundred times better than Miranda.”
Xena let out a soft laugh. “You really think so?”
“Of course! My mom didn’t even approve of her marrying my brother back then. And now? It doesn’t even seem like he likes her anymore.”
A faint smile curved at the corners of Xena’s lips. “How could a housewife ever compare to someone like me?” she thought.
After dropping James off at his hotel, Miranda checked the time. It was almost three.
She stopped by a nearby market to pick up some of Mia’s favorite fruits, then swung by a high–end specialty store to pick up a couple of premium health gift boxes.
At 3:30 p.m., she arrived at the Gibson estate.
Upstairs, Sienna and Xena were still deep in conversation with the door closed. When someone knocked, Sienna called out, ” Come in.”
Felix opened the door and looked at Xena. “I’ll drive you home.”
“It’s still early, why are you sending her away already?” Sienna said, clearly unhappy.
“Miranda is coming for dinner.”
“She can come, but why does that mean Xena has to leave?” Sienna argued, not letting it go.
Xena gave a soft smile. “It’s alright, Sienna. It would be awkward if I stayed. I don’t want to cause any misunderstandings.”

“You’re our guest. What’s there to misunderstand? I invited you, not her,” Sienna huffed.
Xena gently patted her arm. “It’s fine. I should go.”
Sienna was reluctant to see her leave. After opening up to her, it felt like they had so much more to talk about.
Xena went downstairs and greeted Mrs. Gibson Sr. politely before leaving with Felix.

About a kilometer from the Gibson estate, Felix’s car passed through an intersection. Coming from the opposite direction, a white sedan sat at the light with its turn signal blinking. It was Miranda’s car.
She sat there, staring absentmindedly at the traffic ahead, when a familiar vehicle suddenly came into view. Her eyes instinctively flicked to the license plate. It was Felix’s.
Through the windshield, she caught a glimpse of his profile behind the wheel. In the passenger seat beside him was the unmistakable silhouette of a slender woman.
Even with just a glance, Miranda recognized her. It was Xena.
In all these years of marriage, the only woman ever allowed to sit in that seat besides Miranda was Xena.
So this was why Felix had asked her to come home and watch Mia so he could sneak off to meet his lover.
Felix didn’t seem to notice her car. After that brief passing moment, he sped off.
Miranda turned her car toward the Gibson estate. Five minutes later, she pulled through the open gates and parked in the family
courtyard.
