Chapter 13
Though the legal advisor worked for Stanton Group, it was Juliana who had helped him get the job. He figured that, no matter what, he should at least let Juliana know what was going on.
As he walked away, he pulled out his phone, intending to call Juliana, but then he saw her walking toward him from the front desk.
The legal advisor couldn’t help but admire her as she approached.
The young woman wore a black sleeveless turtleneck and high-waisted black pants that draped beautifully, perfectly complementing her tall frame. Her energy, the cascade of long hair, and the confident stride she carried herself with made her look like a force of nature.
She carried a luxury tote and had a trench coat draped casually over her wrist.
Her presence exuded a relaxed yet confident charm that was both mature and graceful, with an unmistakable self-as- suredness.
It was rumored that she had even gotten her private pilot’s license.
She had also successfully scaled extremely high-altitude ice mountains on multiple occasions.
A woman like her-confident, independent, and stunning-was truly one in a million.
It was said that Grover had pursued her for a long time. So why was he now seeking a divorce?
“Ms. Everett, what brings you here?” The legal advisor greeted her respectfully.
“Well, Everett Group and Stanton Group have business dealings,” Juliana said, immediately picking up on the tone in his voice. “You seem like you have something on your mind. Is there an issue at work?”
The legal advisor shook his head. “Could I… speak with you for a moment?”
“Is it work-related or personal?” Juliana asked, sensing something more.
“It… concerns you,” he replied quietly.
“No need,” she said confidently, looking him directly in the eye. “If there’s something at Stanton Group you need to discuss, you can speak to me directly,”
The legal advisor hesitated, his expression worried. “Grover wants a divorce.”
Juliana paused for a moment, then let out a cool smile. “Tracie… she really dug her own grave. This is for the best.”
“What did you say?” The legal advisor was taken aback.

“An… average woman who sold her body, schemed against Grover, and ended up with a marriage license,” Juliana said with disgust, as though the very mention of such a woman could contaminate her.
The legal advisor immediately understood. “I know what to do now. I’ll get to work, Ms. Everett.”
“Good.”
He walked into Grover’s office and saw him just hanging up the phone.
“You’re right on time. Wendi wants you to come with me to pick her up from school,” Grover said, looking up with an appreciative glance at Juliana.
Juliana smiled faintly. “Sure.”
After work, the two of them went to pick up Wendi from kindergarten together.
Wendi was a huge fan of Juliana. As soon as she saw her, she grabbed her hand and refused to let go.
When they got home, the two of them continued holding hands, chatting and laughing as they walked into the villa.
“Juliana, next time you go rock climbing, you have to take me with you! I want to learn how to climb too!”
Juliana teased, “Just don’t cry from being scared, okay?”
“I won’t!” Wendi proudly raised her chin. “If I get scared and cry, I’ll give you my latest Stitch plushie, Juliana!”
Juliana couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay…”
The scene looked so harmonious, like a mother and daughter, that even the housemaids couldn’t help but smile.
At that moment, Eunice Shepard came out of the kitchen, and Wendi immediately called out to her. “Eunice, I want steak for dinner, the tenderest kind.”
She hadn’t had steak in over a week. She used to eat a whole plate every meal.
After asking Eunice, Wendi turned to Juliana and asked, “Do you want steak, Juliana?”
“I’d love it!” Juliana said.
Eunice’s expression changed slightly. “Oh?”
