Chapter 29 It’s Her
They arrived at the pack hospital within half an hour. Dalia jumped from
her seat when Nathan walked in. “She has not awoken yet, Alpha. We did
get her cleaned up and into some comfortable clothing.” She teared up
when she spoke the last part.
Nathan immediately stepped next to the bed and bent down to place a kiss
on her forehead. “I am back little one and I think I have found some friends
of yours.” Looking at his sister he asked, “What is it, Dalia? Why are you
so upset?”
“Oh Nathan, you will see. She is so covered in scars. Someone has been
hurting her all of her life.” She whispered.
“It is okay Dalia. We will face everything when she wakes up and we will
make sure no one ever hurts her again. Now could you go round up enough
to eat for five men. I was not kidding when I said I thought I had found
some of her friends. More likely they found us.” Nathan really wanted his
sister out of the room until he knew for sure these were his Luna’s people.
“Sure, Nathan. I will return shortly. “She said, going through the back door.
Nathan linked his beta and gamma to bring the other two into the room.
They all but ran into the room. Both came to a dead stop and stared.
Instantly, they gathered themselves and rushed toward the bed. Kelp started
stroking her hair and Mark grabbed the hand that Nathan was not holding
on to. Nathan growled and then got his wolf under control. Both men’s
heads snapped towards the growl and mouthed an apology. He waived them
off and said, “I take it she is the one you are looking for?”
They both nodded the affirmative in unison. Kelp dropped to his knees next
to the bed while still stroking her hair, “Oh little ghost, I am so sorry. I am
so sorry Alpha Lorn rejected you. I know how badly it hurts you. Sweet
goddess, can’t you see though you are meant to be here with us? We cannot
do this life without our Alpha Luna.”
Mark spoke up next, “We are all here. Most of the pack has left to be with
you and to form the new pack. They love you so much, Katia. They would
not rest until we lost your scent and, even then, they kept sending trackers
out to try to pick up your scent.”
Mark then looked at Kelp, “Can you feel her? Can you feel Aza?”
“Yes, but they are both so weak. I don’t know if she has the strength to
return this time.” Kelp replied.
Kelp turns back to the tiny woman on the bed with tears once again
streaming down his face, “Little Luna, I know you are hurt. I know you are
tired of this world. Please give us one more chance to show you this world
is worth living in. That you can have love and family without torture and
pain. Your secret is safe with us until you open your eyes. You’re seventeen
now. Maybe you will have some news for us, huh? You must come back
and tell us what she told you.”
The Snow Moon gamma glanced over at the Alpha while linking him, “I
think she is like me, Nathan. We won’t know until she opens her eyes, but I
do know she is special, and our connection is strong. Her connection with
the other gamma has not lessened either. It is just as strong if not stronger.
They have some kind of blood connection. She has a blood connection with
every member out there waiting to find out if it is their ranking member in
our hospital.”
Nathan looks shocked when he hears this, “What do you mean? How do
you know all of this?”
“They haven’t paid much attention to Chipper or I and do not realize I am
Moon Touched and can hear their linked conversations if I want.” Kane
explained. “Although the gamma, Kelp, keeps sniffing the air. Have you
noticed?”
“She is blood connected to every one of them. Like an Alpha would?
Why?” Nathan inquired. “Yes, I did notice but thought maybe he was trying
to make sure the person in the bed was who they were looking for.”
Kane was just as confused but did not want to dig past the linked
conversations the two men were having. He felt it would be too much of an
invasion of privacy. “I don’t know. It is something you will have to ask at
the appropriate time.” He hovered closely to his Luna also, almost like he
was afraid not to be near her. “I can tell you this young woman is the one
they are looking for. They love her wholly and completely and each
member of their pack would give their life for her.”
Chipper finally decided to chime in, “Alpha, it looks like you have found
the perfect woman to be Luna for our pack, but what are we going to do
with all her people?” He looks out the window at the clouds that seemed to
be moving in, “We can’t just leave them out there next to the waterfall.”
“We can decide when she awakes,” Nathan muttered. “Until then, go and
take them back to the pack house so we can figure out where they are going
to stay for now.”
“Will do Alpha. Things are going to be interesting around here for a while,
especially with all these new wolves in our mist.I think our new Luna is
someone special and was given to us for a reason.” Chipper said as he
turned to leave. The door to the room flew open, almost hitting him in the
face. Kelp moved from the bed to the door with a snarl and grabbed at
Chipper. “Don’t you dare hurt mate!”
Dalia rushed into the room, all but throwing the tray of food at her brother
and yelling, “MATE!”
Chipper laughed, walking out the door, “Didn’t see that coming.
