At that moment, Richard, who had finally finished setting up his social media account, noticed the commotion in the luxurious living room.
“What’s happening here?” he asked sternly.
No one answered.
“Why is Charlotte crying? Who upset her?” his voice grew sharper.
Still no response.
Richard surveyed the room, quickly understanding what was happening as he observed family members trying to prevent a “chemical attack.”
The situation became clear: Alexander had upset me.
“Alexander Kingsley! You made Charlotte cry again? You incorrigible child! Clearly you need some discipline.”
Richard began searching for his silver–handled cane. Finding it, he gripped it tightly and walked toward his second son.
James quickly intercepted him. “Dad, calm down. Let’s hear what Alexander and Charlotte have to say first.”
Alexander stood alone in the center of the room, with no one rushing to protect him. Everyone focused intently on us, waiting for an explanation.
Alexander stepped forward with his characteristic confidence, gently pushing his nephew aside and reaching out to hold my hand.
I yanked my hand away. “Had enough fun? Finally remembered you have a home to return to?”
The CEO of Kingsley Tech Group momentarily looked embarrassed by my accusation.
“Let’s go to our bedroom. I’ll explain everything.”
“I guess you’ve been preparing excuses all the way home,” I said sharply.
Alexander looked into my eyes. “When have I ever lied to you?”
“Who knows?”
Victoria glanced between us. “Alexander, Charlotte, what exactly is going on?”
I pointed accusingly at Alexander. “He’s having an affair.”
Richard stared at his silent second son, about to scold him severely, when he suddenly turned to me and said, “Charlotte, are you sure this isn’t a misunderstanding? Alexander doesn’t dare to cheat.”
A man as disciplined as Alexander would seek a divorce before starting a new relationship, never betraying his marriage vows. His elite education, moral principles, and business ethics would never allow such behavior.

Seeing that the entire family doubted my accusation, I repeated what my husband had deliberately implied during lunch- those words meant to make me jealous.
…and this afternoon, Jason and I went to his office and all his usual places. We even checked restaurants he might have booked. We couldn’t find him anywhere.”
All eyes turned to Alexander, waiting for his explanation.
Based on my account, Alexander indeed appeared suspicious.
And so, on this cool Bay Area autumn evening, the six members of the Kingsley family sat around on expensive leather sofas, addressing the marital crisis of the newlyweds.
“This afternoon I received an urgent call from Engineer Chen about our West Zone product development laboratory, A new device malfunctioned, detecting potential radiation hazards. There were several female engineers on site, and I asked how many women were present, then rushed there immediately. I spent the entire afternoon waiting for the expert team’s test
results and solutions.”
This was Alexander’s explanation.
Of course, he admitted that he did have ulterior motives that afternoon–wanting to make me jealous enough to face my true feelings. But his plan had worked too well, leading to the current chaotic situation.
We sat face to face in the center of the mansion’s living room, surrounded by four family members acting as both judges
and mediators.
“Those were your own words!” I exclaimed passionately. “You clearly said you were going to see other women this
afternoon!”
Alexander sighed. “I deliberately wanted to make you jealous.”
“Are you crazy?”
Alexander handed me his phone. “See for yourself. Check if there are any suspicious conversations with women in my phone.”
I grabbed his phone and began carefully examining his call history.
“Alexander Kingsley, you answered Karen Barrett’s call!”
My angry voice echoed throughout the entire living room.
