Scorned Heir’s Second Life. The Rebirth That Made My Brothers Weep
Chapter 8 How Petty
Sadie cast her gaze down to her embroidered shoes. “My handwriting isn’t very good. Yours is much better, Lord Zephyr.
Zephyr retorted, “But I heard you say
Sadie remained unflustered. “Lord Zephyr, you must have misunderstood.”
Alexander cast her an admiring glance.
Sadie is quite the character! She could lie straight–faced to Zephyr without batting an eye or missing a beat.
Zephyr slowly curled up the corners of his lips. “So, you’re saying you’d like me to help you write a birthday wish?”
Sadie braced herself and replied, “I do.”
Zephyr expressed his regret. “I’m afraid I’ve been swamped with work lately and might not have the time to help you.”
Sadie was stupefied.
There’s really something wrong with him.
Even though he knew I had no intention of asking him to write, he insisted on personally rejecting me.
How petty.
Anyway, she was going to the academy the next day. Sadie remembered that a few of the young ladies from prestigious families in the school had beautiful handwriting. She planned to ask if they could help her write a birthday wish.
The following day.
The moment Sadie and Alexander’s carriage pulled up to the academy’s entrance, they were met with at wave of clamor.
After stepping off the carriage, Alexander asked with a teasing tone, Sadie, are they your brothers as well?”
The ones causing a ruckus were Adonis and Daisy.
They had come to Cranesong Academy to register that day, both of them donning brand–new outfits, excitedly making their way over. Little did they know that they would be stopped at the entrance by the academy’s servants,
Sadie stepped forward. “Adonis, Daisy.”
When Adonis saw her, his eyes lit up instantly. “You’re just in time! These servants stubbornly insisted that we’re not students here and refused to let us in! Hurry up and tell them!”
Daisy cradled her newly purchased quill, ink, parchment, and inkwell.
The area was swarming with students who were there just for the spectacle. They were either offspring of wealthy families or children of government officials, often whispering among themselves, seemingly making fun of them.
Chapter 8 How Potty
Daisy glanced at Sadie, who was dressed in Cranesong Academy’s uniform, her face showing clear displeasure.
In the previous life, she was the one rightfully admitted to the academy, and Sadie was hardly even fit to serve as her maid.
But in this life, everything was different.
She even had to rely on Sadie to get into Cranesong Academy.
However, the thought of her father being promoted to a minister in three years, her brothers making a name for themselves, and even the potential of her becoming the crown princess, made her feel a bit better. The fact that Sadie could only marry a low–ranked government official made her feel much better.
Upon seeing Sadie’s silence, Adonis couldn’t help but chide, “Sadie, why aren’t you saying anything? Have you forgotten what I taught you about being confident and outspoken in public? Look at Daisy. She’s so poised and likable. Why can’t you be more like her?”
Sadie lowered her head, murmuring. “I’m sorry.”
Adonis was taken aback. “What?”
Sadie clenched her clothes tightly, choking back her sobs. “Actually, I lied about Grandmother allowing you to study at Cranesong Academy…”
Adonis suddenly widened his eyes.
Sadie wept uncontrollably and confessed timidly, “It’s because Adonis always insisted that I give up my chances to study for Daisy. But I couldn’t bear to… Back when I was at home, Daisy had the chance to learn music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, while all I could do was wash her clothes and cook for her. I couldn’t even recognize any characters… Adonis, I really want to improve myself, so I ended up telling a lie. I’m so sorry! I’m sorry!”
She covered her face and, in tears, ran into the academy.
Adonis was as still as a statue, stunned by what he heard.
The surrounding
students snapped back to reality, unable to resist chattering.
“No way! Both are sisters, yet one is treated like a lady while the other is made to serve like a maid. How can someone be so blatantly partial?”
“If you ask me, it’s not fair to blame Sadie for this! What’s wrong with looking out for herself? She’s not a saint! If I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t pass up this opportunity either!”
“How could she have the audacity? She lacked the ability herself, yet she forced her younger sister to give up her opportunity!”
Accusations were coming at Adonis and Daisy from all sides.
Adonis, who was a third–honored graduate in the previous life, was now just an eighteen or nineteen–year- old boy. His face turned red, a mix of embarrassment and irritation. He was so flustered that he could barely stand. Hastily, he grabbed Daisy’s hand and ran–off, disappearing in a flash.
Only after he had run quite a distance did he express his resentment. “Sadie is just too outrageous!”

Finished
Daisy took a sharp breath, her eyes reddening as she said, “It’s all my fault… If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have had to face such humiliation”
“We can’t rely on Sadie. I think we should ask Mother for help with our studies, Adonis said, clenching his fists. “I’ve heard that The Duke is quite fond of Mother. If she puts in a good word for us, I’m sure The Duke would be willing to send us to Cranesong Academy!”
After a great deal of effort, the siblings finally managed to secure an opportunity to enter Cranesong Academy.
When Adonis escorted Daisy to the female’s classroom, Sadie was in the midst of a conversation with the girl who had the most beautiful handwriting in the class.
The girl hesitated before saying, “Sadie, it’s not that I’m unwilling to help you write a birthday wish, but my handwriting is only passable within our class. If used for a birthday present, it’s far from adequate. The world is full of renowned calligraphers, and my handwriting in comparison would be embarrassingly amateurish.”
Sadie gazed at her writing.
The handwriting of the young girl was elegant and beautiful. However, compared to Zephyr’s script, there was indeed a significant gap. Her penmanship was too naive and immature, making it inappropriate to present to Talulla on her sixtieth birthday.
“Sadie!”
Suddenly, a cold voice echoed from behind.
Upon hearing the sound, Sadie turned to look.
Adonis wore a serious expression as he said, “Don’t tell me you’re preparing a birthday present for me? After the way you fooled me and Daisy the other day, do you really think I would invite you to my birthday?”
It was only then that Sadie remembered that Adonis‘ birthday was coming up next month.
In her previous life, she would always meticulously prepare a gift for him a month in advance, but this time around, she had forgotten.
However, it seemed like there was no longer any need to prepare.
Daisy spoke in a gentle voice. “Sadie, aren’t you going to apologize to Adonis? If you end up not being able to attend his birthday party, you’re going to be upset again.”
“I-”
Sadie was just about to explain that she was preparing a birthday gift for Talulla when Adonis interrupted her with a dismissive snort. “Even if she were to cry her eyes out in front of me, I wouldn’t soften! Someone as selfish as her doesn’t deserve to be my sister!”
Having said that, he left abruptly, brushing his sleeve as he went.
Sadie quirked an eyebrow.
She couldn’t be bothered with him, so she simply returned to her seat to revise her coursework.
In the afternoon, a new class on mounted archery was added.

Sadie had changed into her riding attire and headed to the stables a half hour early
She wanted to check on her horse.
In her previous life, she never had the chaner to ride a horse, Whenever she saw Daisy riding home on a horse, flaunting her skill, she couldn’t help but year for the experience. So, she pleaded with Neville to
teach her.
However, Neville scolded her for being superficial.
He had also mentioned that his horse was his exclusive mount and that she would dirty it if she were to ride
- it.
However, what Neville seemed to forget was that Sadie was the one who personally cleaned his saddle and stirrups.
Sadie clenched her fists.
In this life, things were indeed different. She no longer had to exhaust herself running errands for her father and brothers. She had the opportunity to learn many interesting things
Upon arriving at the stable, she just happened to cross paths with the servants who were feeding the horses. She found her horse, a petite mare with a coat as white as snow, quietly grazing on the grass.
She gazed contentedly for a long while before the girls from her class started to trickle in, fashionably late. The young servants, leading the horses, followed the students to the academy’s schoolyard.
A familiar voice echoed gently. “I was invited by the schoolmaster to teach you all mounted archery.”
Sadie shifted her gaze from the little white horse, looking in surprise at the young man approaching on horseback.
Zephyr?
