Chapter 91 Want Her
Zephyr hair was neatly tied, his crimson sleeves contrasting with his leather military boots, With his sharp features, a quiver of arrows on his back, and reins in his hand, he stood tall and imposing. He was utterly menacing yet charming.
The crowd instantly exclaimed in surprise. “It’s Lord Zephyr!”
The excitement among the girls was palpable, visibly surging. Some young ladies, smitten with Zephyr, even shyly adjusted their clothes.
A young lady quietly asked Sadie, “Isn’t Lord Zephyr your stepbrother? Do you know if he has someone he likes?
“Also…” Another young girl sidled up to Sadie. “What are his usual favorite foods? Any hobbies?”
Sadie was speechless.
She was completely clueless about Zephyr’s interests.
Daisy chuckled lightly, covering her lips. “Stop asking Sadie. Yes, she went to the Gates Estate with our mother, but it’s not so easy for Lord Zephyr to accept her, is it? I’m afraid Sadie has never even had the chance to speak with him in private, let alone get to know him.”
Zephyr has a kind face but a dark heart, causing me much distress in my previous life.
Even if Sadie managed to handle Alexander, there’s absolutely no way she could deal with Zephyr.
In this life, only Sadie will be swiftly dealt with by Zephyr’s decisive actions and be arranged to marry a low–ranked government official!
Sadie’s face showed no particular emotion
She ignored Daisy, focusing solely on Zephyr’s lecture.
Zephyr was in the midst of explaining to everyone how to mount a horse.
Sadie followed the steps he had taught her and climbed onto the horse’s back. Suddenly, a noble lady at the end of the line let out a scream. “Help!”
Her horse was suddenly startled and took off with her on its back.
Zephyr was the quickest to react. He leaped onto his horse, and he was off in a flash, hot on the trail in no time.
Unexpectedly, his spirited horse beneath him suddenly went berserk. In the midst of its wild gallop, it abruptly reared up on its hind legs, neighing loudly as it tried to throw him off.
Zephyr’s face was composed as he realized he couldn’t control the spirited horse. Without hesitation, he pulled out a dagger and swiftly, accurately, and ruthlessly plunged it into the horse’s neck.
The horse let out a mournful neigh before it dramatically collapsed mid–gallop.
Zephyr stepped onto the back of the falling horse, his agility as swift as the wind. In the blink of an eye, he was behind the noble lady, just in time to take control of her horse.

The students swarmed forward.
The young lady was frightened and burst into tears. Accompanied by her close friends, she was taken to see the doctor.
Following that, the mounted archery lesson had to end abruptly.
When Sadie saw Zephyr return to where he had been standing, she noticed him pick up a small, sharp
stone.
Presumably, it was this tiny pebble that startled the young lady’s horse.
Zephyr pocketed the small stone, just as his trusted aide, Clifton Hightowere, approached to deliver a report. “I’ve just inspected your horse. It appears someone had drugged it, which made it wildly uncontrollable.
Sadie was reminded of the time she went to the stables and unexpectedly bumped into that servant carrying a bucket.
She voiced her suspicion, “I think I might have seen the person who drugged it.”
“Zephyr then gathered all the stable hands from Cranesong Academy, asking Sadie to identify the culprit.
Sadie scanned the area, shaking her head. “He’s not here.”
Clifton frowned. “Could it be…”
Zephyr raised his hand, cutting him off mid–sentence.
He looked at Sadie. “Since Miss Francis had seen the person in question, please accompany me back to High Court. There, the artist can sketch him based on your description.”
As Sadie was describing the culprit’s appearance to the legal scribe, her gaze couldn’t help but sweep over Zephyr.
The incident was clearly aimed at him.
Should he even slightly lose his grip, he would tumble off the horse.
At best, he would be injured; at worst, he could be crippled.
Someone is out to get Zephyr.
The legal scribe said, “The drawing is complete. Miss Francis, please take a look.”
Sadie glanced at the drawing and stated, “Your drawing is very accurate. That’s him.”
Zephyr immediately ordered his men to distribute the portrait, initiating a prompt manhunt for the culprit.
As the night fell, Sadie had just finished her bath and was about to retire to bed when Katy suddenly came in with a message. “Miss Sadie, Lord Zephyr has found the culprit. He requests your presence for identification.”
What else is there for me to identif Since they have already caught the person, they might as well interrogate them directly
Chapter 91 Want Her
Unexpectedly, upon reaching the destination, she discovered that the person was already dead.
Finished
They were at a coffin home at the outskirts of the city. The main hall was filled with numerous bodies, the air heavy with the stench of decay.
A few lanterns were hung on the crossbeam, casting a ghastly white light.
Keeping her nose and mouth covered with her sleeve, Sadie followed closely behind Zephyr, matching his pace. Soon, they arrived at a dead body.
There was another person standing in front of the corpse.
The individual held a candlestick, his figure accentuated by a snowy white brocade robe, exuding an air of relaxed elegance. A hint of a smile lingered in his refined, handsome eyes. A single mole graced his forehead, giving him the aura of a serene deity.
“You’re here,” the person said, his voice warm and gentle. His gaze fell on Sadie. “So, you must be the new girl in our family? Nice to meet you. I’m your second brother.”
Upon hearing the news, Sadie stiffened.
It turns out this man is the second son of the Gates family, Madison Gates.
He spoke tender words, but the way he looked at her was strangely unsettling. It was as if his gaze had turned into a knife, ready to dissect her from the outside in.
Zephyr turned to Sadie and asked, “Is that the person you saw?”
Sadie steeled herself and looked at the corpse.
The body was bare, with a long and precise incision marking the chest.
Her face was pale as she quickly averted her gaze. “It’s him.”
Madison set down the candlestick, donned his deer–skin gloves, and pried open the corpse’s chest cavity.
“He ingested arsenic and died from the poison: I found flatbread in his stomach, stuffed with chives, pork, eggs, and onion. At this time of year, onion isn’t available in Dwarven City, but you can find it nine miles south in Wisteria City. I’m sure you’re well aware of who lives in Wisteria City, Zephyr.”
As Madison cut open the corpse’s stomach, a pungent stench of decay instantly filled the air.
The smell was so overpowering that Sadie’s eyes began to sting, and she couldn’t help but cover her mouth as she rushed out to vomit
She leaned against the outer wall of the coffin home, feeling so sick she thought she might throw up her
guts.
A soft chuckle echoed from behind.
Madison appeared, holding a candlestick, and handed her a glass of water. “Rinse your mouth.
“Thank you…
Sadie gingerly accepted it, being extra careful not to touch his hand.
Chapters I Want Her
The smile on Madison’s handsome face deepened. Sadle, you’ve already shown great courage
Sadie thought she was not courageous at all when compared to the brothers. Yet, the modestly replied.
Madison, you flatter me too much
Madison’s appreciative gaze landed on her face, then leisurely traced down the curve of her neck
Upon sensing that. Sadie instinctively protected her abdomen, terrified that he might dissect her.
Madison complimented. “You’re truly beautiful, with delicate and tender skin, Sadie. There has never been
you.” a corpse in the coffin home as lovely a
Sadie was dumbfounded.
I’m not a corpse yet….
A hot droplet of wax trickled down the candle, landing on Madison’s fingertip.
Yet, it seemed as if he was unfazed by the scalding pain. Instead, his fingertips twitched.
In the candlelight, that benevolent face of his revealed an unusual intrigue.
He looked at Zephyr with a yearning gaze. “Brother, I want her.”
