The Bastard 7

The Bastard 7

Chapter 7

Hearing his confident, determined words, I trembled with rage.

What gave him the right to think that after everything that happened, I’d still choose to stay with him?

Did he really think his charm was so great that it could make me lose my mind?

I couldn’t stand it anymore. I yanked open the curtain.

“Quinn Marshall, then I’m telling you to your face right now-I want a divorce!”

Hearing my weak voice, Quinn spun around, guilt flashing in his eyes.

“Shea, you scared me to death. Are you feeling better now? Do your wounds still hurt?”

After everything that had happened, how could I not see clearly that while his worry and concern might be real, it was more about not losing the Reed family’s support!

His false sentiment could no longer fool me for a second.

Seeing him look heartbroken as he tried to examine my wounds, I pushed his hand away decisively.

“Mom, get this man out of here! I never want to see him again!”

Quinn shuddered, forcibly grasping my hand as he said in a low voice:

“Shea, won’t you really give me a chance to explain? We’ve been married all these years-can you really bear to divorce?”

The moment he grabbed my hand, I felt so disgusted I nearly vomited. Fighting the discomfort throughout my body, I pulled my hand free and said mockingly:

“Then why don’t you tell me what reason I have to stay? Do I need to say more about your relationship with Lacey?”

When he let another woman move into our marital home and pampered her for all to see, did he ever think about whether he was being fair to me!

Thinking about how he sweet-talked me overseas while carrying on his affair with Lacey back home, I could only laugh coldly.

Quinn took a deep breath and half-knelt beside the hospital bed.

“You’ve been overseas so long, I hadn’t seen you in too long. One night I drank too much…”

He paused, regret showing on his face.

“Lacey’s temperament and personality are very similar to yours. I subconsciously mistook her for you.”

Seeing the disgusted expression on my face, Quinn quickly made promises.

“Don’t worry, I’ll kick Lacey out immediately! And everything she did to you, I’ll pay back a hundredfold!”

As if afraid I wouldn’t believe him, he immediately had someone bring Lacey over.

When Lacey entered, her face was bruised and swollen-apparently my mother had already given her a good lesson.

The moment Grandmother Marshall saw Lacey, she pounced on her.

Hitting her while cursing: “You’re the bitch! Give me back my great-grandchild’s life! I want you to pay with your life!”

Lacey tried to dodge but was held down by security guards, getting scratched with bloody marks all over her face.

Mrs. Marshall’s eyes also showed hatred.

“This bitch! Don’t worry, Shea, I absolutely won’t let anyone who bullied my daughter in law get away with it!”

Soon, Lacey had several more wounds on her body.

Seeing her condition, Quinn frowned and turned his face away.

I saw everything clearly. How could I not see that Quinn still had feelings for Lacey? I laughed coldly.

“If you can’t bear it, then forget it.”

Quinn stiffened, then said ruthlessly:

“I meant what I said and won’t change it! You can do whatever you want with her. If you’re still not satisfied, I’ll do it myself!”

Lacey covered her swollen face, staring in disbelief.

“Quinn, didn’t you say you loved me most?”

Before she finished speaking, Quinn had already kicked her.

“If you didn’t somewhat resemble Shea, I wouldn’t even bother looking at you!”

Lacey stared wide-eyed at me, then at Quinn, refusing to accept it.

“I don’t believe it! You love me, not her. I’m not anyone’s substitute!”

“Quinn, I’m already carrying your child. Are you going to abandon us mother and child?”
