Chapter 5
Sampson rushed onto the stage and pulled me into his arms, trembling as he called my
name.
“I’m back, Bethany. You have no idea how much I missed you! I was attacked by Rogues during my patrol, and they slashed my stomach with a silver blade. Luckily, a good person took me to a hospital. That was how I could come back in one piece to see you again. I’m all
better now. If you don’t believe me, look!”
He lifted his shirt and showed a nasty scar across his abdomen.
I wondered who painted it on him.
I said nothing, and simply watched his performance with a blank face.
When Sampson saw that I didn’t react, a flicker of embarrassment appeared on his face.
I let out a cold snicker. “Are you done? Is that good person who sent you to the hospital
Desiree?”
Simpson’s expression froze.
Even now, he was still playing dumb.
“What are you talking about? I don’t understand you. Your mate is back… Shouldn’t you be happy?”
Seeing how shameless he was, I laughed. Unable to hold back the pain and frustration I felt
in the past three months, I delivered a brutal slap on him.
“Happy? Of course I’m happy! I’m happy that you didn’t show up when I was going mad! You love hiding, right? Why stop now? Did the disguise potions you got from the witch finally finish?” I snarled.
Sampson froze, looking at me in disbelief. “How did you know?”

I shot him a vicious glare. “I know a lot more than that.”

I switched on the huge screen behind me; it was originally meant to showcase Sampson’s photos, but I would now use it to display the evidence of his crimes.
The photo of Sampson and Desiree cuddling each other as they drank, the footage of them entering my room again and again, and more footage of Sampson entering shopping
complexes with Desiree in his arms…all of them appeared on the screen.
In some shots, Sampson’s appearance had changed because of the disguise potion. However, the white wolf tattoo on his arm still gave him away.
With all the evidence presented before him, Sampson’s face instantly turned pale.
“How did you find out?! Who told you?” His eyes turned vicious as he pointed at the werewolves who were in the know within the crowd. “Was it any of you?! Are you trying to sabotage our relationship?”
Everyone shook their heads.
Only then did Sampson look back at me with pleading eyes. “Bethany, this isn’t real. It’s all fake! Someone must have used the potion to impersonate me. I really, really love you. I would never betray you!”
Even with everything exposed, Sampson still tried to deny it.
I took a deep breath.
“I saw all of it with my own eyes. I recorded the footage myself.” I stared pointedly at him, trying to see what other lies he could make. “Is there anything else you want to say at this point?”
Sampson grabbed the end of my dress and begged, “Bethany, please believe me! Desiree is just a friend. There’s really nothing between us. You’re the mate the Moon Goddess gave me!”
Everyone who came to the funeral could only watch with a stunned expression as

something so wild in the pack unfolded–not only did the Alpha Sampson appear at his own funeral, but he was also immediately exposed by his Luna for cheating.
Sampson finally snapped and roared, “You did this on purpose, Bethany! You knew I was alive, but you still planned my funeral and the Alpha Election! Have you gone crazy?!”
“That’s right!” I shouted without hesitation.
I didn’t flinch and acknowledged everything.
“Sampson, you broke the vow you made to the Moon Goddess. You betrayed our bond! And
now, I want to sever our Mate
Bond!”
