Chapter 52
Alexander
Sergio steps toward Inara again, determined, ready to grab her hair once more. But something’s changed in her eyes.
Inara swiftly and firmly grabs Sergio’s dick with her left hand. In her other hand, she’s holding a lighter–her damn lighter she always keeps on her and flicks out of boredom.
How did she do that? She managed to grab him without anyone noticing. Sergio’s man, who had his gun pointed at me, now points it at her.
The mobster stares at her, wide–eyed in shock and confusion.
“I suddenly feel much better.”
There’s a hint of mockery in her voice.
I really thought she was having a fit–but it was nothing more than a distraction to throw Sergio and his men off.
She’s impressive. She stares Sergio down while flicking the lighter, moving it toward his dick.
You bitch! That whole act was a damn setup!”
You wound me! I prefer ‘miss, thank you. You overestimated yourself- that’s not my fault.”
“You stupid slut!”
“You actually believed I was having a seizure just because you shoved my head near your trash? And I’m the dumb one?”
He glares at her while biting his lip.
She tightens her grip on his jewels, and he starts howling in pain.
Sergio’s men are frozen, helpless. They don’t move an inch.
I stay still, too. She’s ice–cold. I could use this to disarm both of Sergio’s dogs, but I want to see what she’s capable of
Tell your men to lower their weapons now, or I’ll lose my patience.”
‘Go fuck yourself!”
She shrugs
“We both know that if you order them to shoot. I’ll have time to roast your balls at least three times before I bleed out.”
“You’re bluffing
She smirks.
“Are you ready to take that risk?”
“You don’t have the guts
“I think you’re wrong about me.

She smiles slightly while reigniting the flame.
“I’m not his whore.”
The mobster is probably pissing himself now, feeling the fire’s heat creep toward his crotch.
“I came here to help him get back what’s his. And contrary to what you think, well, I’m a killer. My hands are dirtier than both your lapdogs
She glares at him.
“Can you feel the warmth about to burn away what makes you a man? What will you do without your precious jewels? Imagine what your enemies will say when they hear. I’ve heard it’s a sensitive area. I wouldn’t want those kinds of burns in your place.”
She flicks off the lighter, and Sergio exhales in relief as she shrugs again.
“If you’d rather kill Alexander and me at the risk of losing your manhood, well, that’s your choice, isn’t it?”
You’re completely insane.”
“I promise you haven’t seen anything yet.”
She doesn’t blink. It’s like she’s done this all her life–conditioned to fight to live… or rather, to survive.
“Lower your weapons, Sergio orders.
“Wise choice, Inara praises.
The two men obey, and I pick up their pistols, pointing them back at them.

I approach the one who held me back earlier. I shoot him straight in the leg. He screams in pain. I point my gun at his chest, and his body collapses.
The second one doesn’t even have time to speak before I shoot him right in the head.
Star stares at the two lifeless bodies but says nothing
She says focused on the mobster
“They lowered their weapons Now let go of me and move your lighter away from my balls!”
His men just died in front of him, and all he cares about is saving his anatomy. He doesn’t even look shockesk
“You could at least pretend to be sad. Inara says
“You’re seriously giving me a moral lecture when it was your partner who just shot them?”
“They weren’t mine! I answer dryly
“Collateral damage. Don’t you young people understand that?
“You knew what would happen when you wish them to drop their guns. As long as your junk was safe, that’s all that mattered,
hub
“Alexander, you know pawns are made to be sacrificed. You’re sull young but trust me, around here we don’t play with

feelings like you do in France.”
1 glare at him.
“Who says I’m sentimental? My men aren’t pawns.”
“Your weak mind will get you killed.”
“No woman has ever grabbed my balls and threatened to burn them.”
He seems offended.
“You didn’t tell me she was a killer too, and part of your gang!”
I’m still here, in case you forgot. I have nothing to do with his gang.”
“You’re right, let’s get to the point. Let me go. You got the other two’s heads.”
Their heads without yours are worthless,” I say with a smile.
She lets out a mocking laugh.
“I don’t recall making a deal with you,” Inara fakes.
His eyes widen.
“You tricked me! You never planned to let me go!”
I never promised you anything. I never said I’d let you go once they were disarmed.”
Let me go now!”
Didn’t you want me to take care of your dick? Enjoy the moment.”
Slar smirks
Alexander, tell your bitch to back off!”
“She told you to call her miss remember?
Inars gives a sly smile
“If my halls have even a scratch you won’t make it out of this country alive! I swear on my whole family’s eyes!”
“I really want to turn then just to be sure you never try to force a girl again
She’s not joking There’s ou emotion in her voice
She’s dying to get revenge. I kave shy taking dus personally, and she wants him to suffice.
Inara is calm, confident, and rarely luses control but she bind sisalistic side I’m pat now discovering. She wouldn’t
besitate to burn his junk

I’m gripping his jewels tightly in one hand, my lighter in the other. He shows no regret for trying to force me to suck him. I know he’s only scared for his balls. I’m full of rage.
“Let’s go. Leave this bastard here.”
I had almost forgotten he was there.
“You think I’m going to let him off after what he tried to do to me?”
“I’d love to fill that son of a bitch with bullets, but if we do that, we’ll never make it home.”
The mobster gives a wide, sly grin. He looks at me with a mischievous glint.
“Listen to your partner, and let me go.”
I glare at him. I don’t loosen my grip- I squeeze tighter, savoring his pain.
“He’s not my partner. I don’t take orders from him, got it? If I want to crush your balls, I’ll do it without a second thought.”
God, I want to destroy them with my bare hands. The pain he’s in isn’t nearly enough.
“Quit your bullshit,” Alexander orders.
I let go of Sergio and shoot a death glare at Alexander.
“Don’t give me orders, Alexander.”
“Stop letting your emotions take over. Let’s go, now.”
He’s gotta be kidding me, right?
“That son of a bitch tried to force me to blow him and you think he deserves compassion?”
“You can’t kill him. You know that. Stop being stupid.”
“You killed his two henchmen!”
“I think with my brain, not my heart! If you kill him, we’ll have his whole organization on us!”
He’s right. Killing Sergio would be a massive mistake–our last.
I walk toward the mafioso slouched against the wall with a wide grin.
“Then leave, I’ll handle it myself.”
He doesn’t say a word.
“I don’t abandon my men.”
I bite my lip. I don’t want his pity. I don’t want him to make me think I matter.
“Good thing I’m not one of your men. You’ll have time to run before they link us together.”
“Alexander, you seriously gonna let her kill me knowing it’s suicidal for both of you?”
Alexander grabs my arm and forces me to face him. Our eyes lock.

Chapter 52
“Don’t let your impulses control you. You need to control them, or you’ll become what you don’t want to be.”
My heart pounds as I glance at his hand on me.
“I can control myself.”
“If that were true, you’d leave without giving that piece of shit a second look.”
“You don’t know me.”
“I know you well enough to know you’re smart enough not to kill this bastard.”
He lets go of my arm.
I stare at my trembling, sweaty hands. I picture them wrapped around Sergio’s neck, squeezing until his heart stops and his body goes limp. But picturing Sergio’s death also means picturing mine–and Alexander’s.
I walk quickly to the exit without even glancing back at the mobster. I see his car parked outside the cabin. The keys are on the door. I turn to check if Alexander is following–he isn’t. I heard no footsteps behind me.
That means he’s still inside.
Why did he wait until I left to speak to the mobster? What could he possibly have to say that I wasn’t allowed to hear?
I hold the key against my chest and turn back. I re–enter silently. I see Alexander from behind, facing Sergio, still slumped against the wall. Neither sees me.
“You should thank me for pretending to be pissed about you doing business with my rival in front of your girl!”
“I never asked you to put on a show.”
“Maybe not, but my improv was spectacular. She didn’t suspect a thing.”
“There was never any talk of a deal between us.”
“You still got what you wanted, didn’t you?”
“Shut your mouth.”
“It was risky bringing that girl.”
“I’m pretty proud I got everything I came for–without your help.”
“You know why I refused to help you in the past. But now we can team up.”
“I don’t accept people like you in my gang.”
“I can be very useful!”
“You blew your chance, Sergio. You should’ve grown a pair before, not waited until someone threatened to take them for you. You know too much to stay alive,”
The mobster doesn’t even have time to respond. Alexander shoots him right in the middle of the forehead.
I stifle a gasp. I remain completely silent at the scene.
