Chapter 45
Charlotte’s POV:
“Honey, don’t go too far! I heard that phone call just now! I accused.
Alexander pulled clothes from the closet and changed into them. With my back to him, I continued my protest: “You’re married now, you need to stay faithful. Besides, we just started dating last night! If you dare be unfaithful, breaking up would be the least of your concerns–I might divorce you!”
He fastened an expensive watch to his wrist as I added, “A man who doesn’t respect himself is like rotten cabbage.”
Alexander finished putting on his socks and walked past me. I quickly followed him. “Honey, did you hear what I just
said?”
“Hmm, to summarize in one sentence: as your man, your boyfriend, I need to maintain my marital integrity,” he replied.
“Exactly!” I nodded. “So, are you going to meet women?”
“Yes,” Alexander answered tersely. At the door, he put on a pair of brand–new leather shoes, grabbed his car keys, and left with a final instruction: “Spend the afternoon with Jason if you’re bored, or go shopping with Victoria. Don’t wait up for
me–I’ll be back late.”
“You… Alexander, aren’t you going to teach me how to drive?” I pouted, my voice tinged with a plea to make him stay.
‘I’ll teach you tomorrow. Someone’s waiting for me this afternoon. I have to go now.” With that, he was gone.
I stood in front of the closed door, my eyes welling with tears. Through the window, I watched his car drive away, then suddenly burst into tears: “Alexander Kingsley, you’re such a cheater, waaah!”
Still crying, I left the room and stormed into Jason’s bedroom without knocking.
“Damn it, Charlotte, don’t you know how to knock?!” Jason exclaimed, startled as he sat up in bed, wrapped in his blanket.
Seeing my red eyes, he became concerned. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” He got out of bed, still wrapped in his blanket. “Don’t cry. What happened?”
“Jason, can you help me?” I pleaded between sobs.
“Yes, yes, I’ll help you. What do you need?”
“My husband just left to meet other women behind my back. He even asked for several women,” I sobbed. “Can you follow him and keep an eye on him?”
Jason looked confused. “Why would my uncle go meet other women?”
I explained to the bewildered Jason, who sat among his rumpled bedding, my voice trembling as I struggled to control my
emotions.
*He, he, he tried to touch me in our room, but I wouldn’t let him,” I stammered, still shocked by what had transpired. “Then he took a shower, received a phone call, and asked the person how many women were available before leaving.”

I shook my head, wiping my eyes, then remembered something else. “He told me to spend the two wash you when he left. Normally, he forbids us from being together–he’s always worried we might develop feelings for sau) other. But today,
he doesn’t seem to care.
Jason nodded thoughtfully. “That’s true. My uncle did misunderstand out relationship before?
*Please step outside,” he said. “I can’t call my uncle while wrapped in this blanket. Let the yel &essed, then f§ nake you to
find him, okay?”
Five minutes later, Jason drove me to Alexander’s company, but we discovered he wasn’t there,
I took out my phone and, after three deep breaths, called Secretary Luo.
“Hello, Secretary Luo, this is Charlotte Cole, Alexander Kingsley’s wife,” I said when the call connected, trying to keep my voice steady.
“Mrs. Kingsley?‘ Her surprise was evident in her voice,
I nodded to myself, attempting a strategy. “Secretary Luo, I need your help. I want to surprise my husband, but I don’t know where he frequently goes. Could you tell me? Please don’t let my husband know yet?
Her tone remained cautious. “Mrs. Kingsley, why would you want to surprise the boss? I could hear the suspicion in her voice. This wasn’t a birthday or holiday, and my request might seem strange.
