Chapter 18
Allison froze.
“What did you just say? Sarah was the one who killed my father?”
Alexander nodded solemnly. “Yeah. These are the documents that prove it
it.”

He slid a folder across the table–surveillance stills, receipts, names of the people involved.
“Whatever you think… you’ve wronged me. I didn’t kill him, Allie.”
Her hands trembled as she opened the file.
She read in silence, eyes scanning every word. With each line, her grip tightened. Her face drained of color.
“You’re right about one thing,” she said coldly, “You didn’t kill him alone.”
“But if you hadn’t kidnapped him, she never would’ve had the chance to get close. Don’t you dare act like you’re innocent. You’re just as vile as she is.”
She crushed the documents in her hand and hurled them at his face.
“I will never forgive either of you.
She stood, furious, and turned to leave.
Alexander reached out instinctively and grabbed her arm–only to be met with a brutal slap.
“Get the hell away from me!”
“Allie, I’ll help you get revenge,” he said frantically. “I’ll make this right. Just forgive me and let’s try again. You want Rockwood Holdings? I’ll sign it all over to you. Anything you want–name it, it’s yours.”
He reached to her.
She drove her knee hard into his gut.
Alexander collapsed with a choked groan, doubling over as he clutched his stomach in pain.
“You don’t need to give me anything,” she spat. “I’ll take it myself. The very sight of you makes me sick”
She stormed out
Allison drove straight to her father’s grave.
And for hours, she cried.
She cried until her chest ached, until her voice was hoarse, until the sun set and the sky went black.
When Quinn finally found her, she was still kneeling there, drenched in tears.
He didn’t say a word. Just helped her up and wrapped her in his arms.
She collapsed against his chest, sobbing until she couldn’t breathe.
Eventually, she cried herself to sleep in his arms.
Meanwhile, Sarah had just returned to the country.
The moment she heard Alexander was back at the Rockwood estate, she rushed over.
She didn’t even bother calling

She showed up in person–messy hair, clothes wrinkled, makeup barely holding She crouched by the front gate, holding tightly to her last scrap of pride.
As a car pulled up, she jumped to her feet.
“Alex… I came to say I’m sorry,” she said, voice trembling “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I swear.”
She dropped to her knees on the gravel, tears streaming down her checks.
“I’ve been saving every cent I could. I came straight back to the hotel as soon as I could afford the flight. But you were gone. I couldn’t
find you.”
She emptied her purse on the ground–all the cash she had.
“Please, just… forgive me. Okay?”
Alexander stepped out of the car, his face stone–cold.
He grabbed her by the arm and yanked her to her feet.
Sarah stumbled into his chest, instinctively leaning in.
“I knew it,” she whispered, smiling through her tears. “You still care about me.”
His smile twisted into something dark.
“You really are good at pretending.”
His voice dropped, “For a second, I almost believed you.

“Funny how you disappeared the second I went bankrupt. And now here you are, crawling back.”
Before she could respond, his hand closed around her throat.
Sarah gasped. Her body jolted with panic as she clawed at his arms, but his grip only tightened.
“Scared now?” he growled. “Where was that fear when you were destroying Allie’s life?”
“When you drugged her father? When you twisted your lies into daggers and ruined everything I had left?”
“All of this,” be hissed, feverything–is your fault.”
“You broke me. You broke her.”
His rage exploded. Every bit of guilt, every ounce of failure he poured it all into his grip:
Sarah’s eyes rolled back as she gasped for air.
Just when it seemed like she might pass out, he let go.
She dropped like a rag doll, hitting the pavement hard and choking on every breath.
e you insane?” she rasped, staring up at him with wide, bloodshot eyes. “Were you going to kill me?”
“You deserve to die,” he said flatly. “But that’d be too easy.”
He leaned down, smiling cruelly.
