Chapter 275

LILY’S POV

I’ve been so lost in my thoughts, I didn’t realize when Rose and Noel were in front of me trying to get my attention. It was only when fiosi slappet ma that I came back to reality and just like that, the emotions came to me unbearably.

My throat felt tight while my breathing had gotten shallow as I struggled to breathe. Chest tightening with anxiety, I could hear Rose and Noel shouting my name as I sobbed. I could faintly feel one of their hands caressing my hair and just realized that I was sprawled out on the floor with my phone a few feet away from me.

I took in large gulps of air as I tried to stop my emotional scene. Taking the courage to take my phone, I pulled it slowly to my ear as I heard my panicking mom calling me through the line. With a shaky breath I answered.

“Lily, are you alright?!” Mom’s voice pierced through the phone, making me cringe at how loud it was.

“I’m fine mom, please don’t worry about me.” My voice came out scratchy even to my own ears, I knew she could sense that I just had a breakdown from the silence she gave me.

“Oh hunny, I didn’t mean to just sprawl all that on you. It’s just that he wanted to see you and I didn’t know what to tell him.” She sounded apologetic but I could hear the sympathy she had for the man that was supposed to be my knight in shining armor, the one to protect me from the bad guys, the one to teach me how to ride a bike, he was supposed to be my dad, but he wasn’t, not since the day he walked out on us. And just by her having an ounce of sympathy for him, made me mad.

“You should have told him to go back where he came from, because I sure as hell don’t want to see him.” I busted out. My voice sounded rough and I instantly regretted it when I heard her sharp intake of breath. Noel and Rose gave me a startled look as they have never seen me this angry. I couldn’t blame them since I knew how I looked right now.

“He looked like he had good intentions.” She said softly, trying to make me see reason. But I couldn’t and I took all of my frustration out on her. All I could see was her taking his side and not mine.

“Mom, you’re just saying that because you still have a soft spot for that dick!” I yelled at her, veins popping out of my neck. Noel and Rose both gasped as they heard my angry tone at my mom, which was never done before since my mom and I got along and we never had an argument but now this man is trying to get in between us.

“Lily, watch your tone right now, you’re not too old for a spanking!” She yelled back angrily, clearly feeling disrespected. I took a few more gulps of air, trying to calm myself down. My mom wasn’t my enemy and it wasn’t her fault that she still might have feelings for a dick who doesn’t deserve anything good in his life.

“Sorry, mom.” I apologized and I meant it.

She sighed. “It’s okay baby girl, but please think about it, at least for me? We all could get some closure and plus your sister wants to meet you.”

“Well, I don’t want to meet her.” I said angrily. Why would I want to meet one of the main reasons my so–called dad left me and my mom? He chose her over me and never looked back. It was like I didn’t stand a chance against her, she would always win. Oh, who am I kidding, she already won and she

didn’t have to try.

My mom sighed like this conversation was frustrating her. “Lily, please just think about it.”

“Okay, I’ll think about it.” I answered after a complete pause of five minutes.

“Thanks hunny, please stay safe out there you know how I hate that you’re alone, you’re so far from home, far from me.” She whispered. I knew she hated that I had to leave her. Like I said, we are inseparable. She was my rock whilst I was hers.

“Mom, I’m always safe, no need to worry about me.” I said, trying to ease her mind.

“Good to hear that, I’ll call you tomorrow.” She said happily.

“Okay mom, bye.” I told her, already dreading the conversation we would have tomorrow. I knew she would ask what my answer was in meeting my dad

and half sister and I quite frankly don’t think I would be able to answer it.

“Bye hunny, and please take care of yourself.” She said strictly.

“I will.” And with that, I hung up the phone.

! took in a deep needed breath as 1 got ready to be bombarded with questions from Noel and Rose. Their faces said it all, they were afraid of whee taus going to tell them and so was I. I was afraid they would convince me to go and meet them.

“Well go ahead and tell us!” Rose said impatiently while her brother, on the other hand, looked a bit lost.

“My dad came back.” I whispered to them, averting my eyes to stare at the stain that was on the rug I never noticed until now.

“Oh wow.” They both gasped out looking shocked.

“That’s not all, they want to meet me.” I told them trying to make it seem like it didn’t affect me. When I could barely stand, all I wanted to do was ball my eyes out and pretend that I wasn’t on earth right now. This week has been nothing but horrible, not only did Asher and I break up, but now my dad is trying to bring his unwanted ass into my life.

“Who are they?” Rose asked, confused.

“He brought my half sister with him.” I let out.

“Holy shit! Are you going to go?” This made me look at her. I knew this was coming, but I didn’t have a proper answer to that. My head hurt even thinking

about it.

“I don’t know, I mean why would he come back after all those years?” I asked in suspicion.

“Oh girly, I don’t know, but I think you should go and meet them.” Rose said softly, trying not to upset me.

“Why the hell would I want to waste my time and meet those people who caused my mom and I so much pain?” I grumbled.

“That’s the thing Lily, you don’t know how much time you have left, no one does. What if you decide to miss this chance and something happens to them? You’ll feel regret and you’ll probably blame yourself, just please think about it. ” Noel said, which made me think about it.
