Two lonely souls, clinging to each other, licking their wounds.

Tracie accepted her as her grandmother.

As Mandy often put it: “She’s like a grandmother, but without the blood ties.”

This “adopted grandmother” had been in their lives for ten years.

Mandy also called her grandma.

But Mandy and grandmother, one stubborn and the other fiery, always clashed.

When the two of them were together, there was always an argument.

But after the fights, grandmother would still give Mandy the treats she had saved.

Mandy, in turn, would wash her hair, comb it, and even buy her new hair accessories.

At first, Tracie found it strange how the two women got along, but later she realized they shared the same enemies.

And both of them hoped Tracie and Grover would help them get their revenge.

Unfortunately…

Tracie’s marriage had already come to an end.

If grandmother and Mandy wanted to show off, they definitely couldn’t rely on Grover.

It had to come from Tracie.

“Eve

Wendi isn’t my real great-grandson, Tracie loves me, and her husband and child have to love me too!

Tracie’s real sister!” The old lady said, taking a playful jab at Mandy with a sense of superiority.

Tracie’s real sister, but Tracie loves me even more! She even said she’d buy me a big gift to help me get lage!”

loves me most!”

cie loves me more!”

racie is my real granddaughter!”

“Tracie is my real sister! Rico is my real grandson!”

Both Tracie and Rico were speechless.

Tracie thought, this ragtag family, with no blood ties between them, must look like a complete joke to Grover.

Yet grandmother and Mandy were still trying to claim some sort of family connection with him.

“Grandmother, if you keep arguing with Mandy, your soup are going to burn in the pot!” Tracie shot grandmother a frustrated look.

Grandmother immediately turned and ran back to the house, calling, “Oh no, my soups are burning!”

“Mandy, the cake you made for grandma has fallen apart, hasn’t it?” Tracie gave Mandy an exasperated look.

Mandy quickly followed behind, eager to fix things, “Grandma, grandma, the cake I made is super soft and deli- cious-”

She caught up to grandmother, shoved the cake into her arms, and whispered something in her ear. Immediately, grandmother’s face lit up, “Really? Are you sure?”

“Of course!” Mandy said proudly.

Tracie couldn’t help but wonder what Mandy was up to.

She followed them inside grandmother’s house.

The small, humble courtyard was neat and tidy. There was a pot of soup, some stewed bacon, and homegrown organ- ic vegetables. The meal wasn’t extravagant, but it was warm and filled with the comforting scent of home.

After lunch, Mandy and grandmother went around the village, handing out treats that Mandy had brought from the city.

“My son-in-law is the CEO of Stanton Group. These treats are from him, sent through my granddaughter to share with all of you,” grandmother proudly boasted while distributing the food.

“My brother-in-law is one of the richest men in Truatol. He’s been trying to bring grandma to the city to live in a big mansion, but grandma won’t leave because she doesn’t want to abandon the neighbors,” Mandy chimed in, joining in the bragging with grandmother.

Tracie was speechless.

Now it made sense why Mandy had brought so many treats from the city.

Now it made sense why she and grandmother had been whispering.

They were showing off to the villagers.

When grandmother settled down for a nap with Rico, Tracie turned to Mandy seriously. “Mandy, I’m definitely going to divorce Grover. Even if I don’t, he’s never treated you or grandma like family. If you keep showing off like this… don’t you think you’re trying to stop me from divorcing him and hoping to latch on to a rich family connection?”
