Chapter 27
“Of course not!”
“Wait for my good news!” Wilmer said, excited.
“Alright!” Tracie responded.
From there, Tracie just had to wait for Wilmer to make the connections, and she’d be ready to take her project to the next level.
But before she could move forward with the project, she needed to finalize her divorce.
Only a few days remained until the two weeks Grover had given her to return to the company. Tracie would have to wait until the time was right to approach him at Stanton Group.
Meanwhile, Grover was handing the divorce agreement to Juliana. “Here it is.”
Juliana had known the agreement was being drafted, but seeing it in person still left her shaken. Her voice trembled as she asked, “Grover, are you… really divorcing her and marrying me?”
“Of course,” Grover said, gazing gently at Juliana.
“She… she gets nothing, not a penny?” Juliana asked again, her concern obvious.
“Before I marry you, I need to clear everything from my life that could affect you. I’m only responsible for you now. The other women are no longer my concern,” Grover said, his words sincere.

In a soft, understanding tone, she asked, “Should we… meet with her first? Prepare her for what’s coming?”
Her main concern was that Tracie, given her dramatic tendencies, might cause a scene if they just confronted her about the divorce.
Grover had tried to reach Tracie before.
But it wasn’t to comfort her before the divorce. He had wanted to let her know that she could stay in the Stanton family as a housekeeper.
But now, he couldn’t reach her.
He shook his head. “We’ve always been strangers. There’s no need to worry about her feelings.”
“Grover, I love you!” Juliana said, playfully wrapping her arm around Grover’s neck.
Just as she was about to settle into his embrace, the phone on the desk
rang.
She picked it up and listened for a moment. Grover’s voice came through, slightly raised. “You’re at the airport? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Was this a surprise? Alright! How do you know my wife’s last name is Everett?”
Juliana mouthed to Grover, “Who?”
Grover continued on the phone, “Okay, I’ll go with my wife to pick you up.”
After hanging up, he turned to Juliana with a serious expression. “One of our Stophis collaborators, Pedro, specifically requested to meet you.”

“Which Pedro?” Juliana asked, looking confused.
Although she had studied abroad, she had never been to Stophis and didn’t know Pedro.
“You studied architecture, right?” Grover asked knowingly.
“Why ask if you already know?” she replied, teasing him.
“Your last name is Everett, right?”
“Grover!” Juliana laughed, clearly enjoying his teasing.
“You’re Grover’s wife, right?” he continued, playfully.
“I’m not talking to you anymore…” Juliana chuckled, rolling her eyes.
“Come with me to pick up the Stophis partner!” Grover stood up, wrapping his arm around Juliana’s waist as they headed out.
At the airport, when Juliana saw Pedro, she quickly realized she had never met the elderly man, who looked to be in his sixties.
But Pedro seemed very familiar with her. “Ms. Everett! You’re incredible! Your design skills are top–notch! The project I’m working on with Mr. Stanton–are you the lead designer?”
Juliana was speechless.
Grover smiled softly. “My wife is truly exceptional!”
Juliana hooked her arm through his and politely addressed Pedro, “Pedro, I’ll do my best!”
“Absolutely.”
After a brief pause, Juliana shyly and politely responded, “Pedro, please get in the car.”

“Alright!”
The other collaborators were in different cars, but Pedro was in the car with Grover and Juliana. Once inside, Pedro repeatedly emphasized that he had chosen to work with Stanton Group because of Juliana.
At first, Juliana was confused.
But after just a few minutes, she understood.
Although the architecture industry had shrunk significantly in recent years, with Everett Group on the verge of collapse, Juliana’s accomplishments as a designer were still impressive, particularly after her studies abroad.
