Chapter 6
Necie’s POV
I wiped the tresh off my head and glared at him coldy.
You’re really that sure I’m the one behind all this? It was My who collected everyone’s D cards in the first place. Why arent you questioning her
Before I could finish, Bentley slapped me hard across the face.
He looked at me with disappointment in his eyes. Media even now, you refuse to admit the truth? My was still defending you on the way here, and this is how you repay her, by smearing her name?
Ivy dabbed her eyes dramatically, her voice trembling. Nedie, I’ve never done anything to hurt you. Why are you trying to pin everything on me? Yes, I dd collect everyone’s Dso apply for travel vises. But before I could even do it you stole them from re
I burned with anger and was just about to argue when she succerly pulled out a video fie and hit play.
The moment I glanced at the footage, my heart dropped.
It showed someone sneaking into her house late at night, stealing a pile of D cars
And that person had my face and even wore the exact clothes I had on right now
I froze on the spot. I never went to her house. So why did the surveillance show screcre who looked exactly like me?
Was I sleepwalking? Did I really do it without remembering?
But then I caught the smug satisfaction in My’s eves, and it clicked
This was all part of her plan.
I quickly checked the timestamp on the footage. It was during the exact time I was at the hospital, paying for my mom’s surgery.
If her security camera had that timestamp, then the hospital’s cameras should back me up
too.
But when I rushed to the hospital’s security office, they told me the footage from last night had been corrupted, and the cameras were broken.
Hopelessness washed over me in that instant
Had I really come back from the dead just to be trapped in the same nightmare again?
Just then, chaos erupted at the end of the hall
A middle–aged man in a flashy gold chain came storming in, followed by a group of bodyguards.
I blinked, completely confused.
Meanwhile, Ivy’s face paled as she gasped, “Dad? What are you doing here?
But the man ignored her completely. Instead, he rushed over to me with tears in his eyes

and grabbed my hand.
“My daughter… I finally found you!” he choked out.
I stood there, stunned, not knowing what was going on.

Before I could say anything, Ivy pushed forward with a scowl and clung to his arm. “Dad, what are you talking about? I’m your daughter!”
The man’s face darkened. He yanked his arm free and slapped a thick document against her chest. “Take a good look. We’re not related by blood. Nadia is my real daughter.”
Ivy tore open the report, her hands shaking. As soon as she read the results, the color drained from her face.
It turned out, Ivy’s biological mother was actually our family’s housekeeper. She and my mom had given birth on the same day in the same hospital.
The two babies were born around the same time, and looked similar in size. Ivy’s mother, unwilling to accept that her own daughter would live a life of poverty, made a cruel decision.
While no one was watching, she swapped us, took me, and disappeared, returning to her hometown with no explanation.
My real mother assumed the housekeeper had simply left after giving birth, never realizing she’d taken the wrong baby with her.
And just like that, eighteen years had passed.
But over time, things didn’t add up. Ivy looked nothing like my mother or the man now standing before me, Mr. Mike Green, not even a little. Personality–wise, they were total opposites, too.
That was when Mr. Green grew suspicious, so he quietly had a DNA test done.
And just like that, everything unraveled.
He told no one as he started searching for me in secret.
And now, he’d finally found me.
