Chapter 11 Do Not Want Either
Daisy chuckled lightly from the side. “It’s just a roasted chicken. Is it really worth her being so thrilled? Sadie really hasn’t seen much of the world. She’s quick to call someone intimately just because she gets to have some roast chicken.”
She turned to Adonis with a playful smile, affectionately wrapping her arm around his. “My brothers used to take me out for roast chicken and all sorts of delicious food. I wouldn’t want what others offer out of pity!TM
Adonis body felt a bit still
We do indeed often take Daisy out to dine at inns.
As for Sadic…
We had never taken her out to eat, not once since she was a child.
But all of that is her own doing. Who’s to blame if not herself for being so naive, insisting on competing with Dairy for things?
That’s the punishment we have bestowed upon her.
Upon seeing Adonis stay silent, Daisy couldn’t help but gently ask, “What’s on your mind, Adonis?”
“I was thinking Sadie seems different from before. She’s not clinging to us anymore.”
In the past, Sadie would always trail behind them, wishing she could serve them like a maid.
Yet, ever since he had joined Cranesong Academy, apart from the occasional encounters when he picked Daisy up, he hardly ever saw Sadie. She never seemed to appear before him at any other time.
Daisy thought for a moment and said, “Perhaps she’s trying to catch your attention this way, hoping to make you jealous. She must still care about you. Otherwise, why would she prepare your birthday present so many days in advance?”
Thinking back on the birthday wishes written by Sadie, Adonis couldn’t help but feel grounded again.
He said solemnly, “You’re right. But this girl is too willful, even resorting to such underhanded tactics!! think it’s best not to invite her to my birthday, just to avoid any potential havoc she might cause!”
Sadie had no idea what Adonis was thinking. All she did was diligently finish embroidering the characters. on the silk cloth.
She then took it to the shop, asking the craftsman to carve a carved screen from rosewood.
Just before the day of the birthday banquet, Sadie was carrying the finished screen back from the shop. As she was passing through the bustling market, someone called out to her from an inn above.
She instantly turned around.
Alexander leaned against the carved window, a playful grin on his face as he raised his glass of wine toward her. “What are you waiting for?/Come on up!”
He was surrounded by a few scions, all of whom had escaped from Aureum Delicacies that day. Over the past few days, to express their gratitude to Sadie, they had continuously sent her numerous gifts.

After some thought, Sadle stepped into the inn, planning to offer them a toast.
Within the inn, Adonis was hosting a birthday banquet in a private room, seated directly across from Alexander.
The guests invited were all close friends of the Francis siblings, and the atmosphere around the dining table was lively and cheerful
For some reason, Adonis seemed a bit lost in thought.
Every now and then, he would glance toward the door, as if waiting for someone.
“Adonis,” Daisy said with a smile, presenting an ornate jewelry box. “This is my birthday present to you
When Adonis opened it, a quill lay inside the ornate jewelry box.
Daisy asked with a coy tone. “I made this quill myself. Do you like it, Adonis?”
Hearing this, Adonis chuckled. “Such a thoughtful gift. Of course, I adore it. I promise to use this quill you’ve given me to craft my best writings…
“He suddenly paused.
In truth, Sadie had previously given him a quill, one that she had crafted with her own hands.
However, in response to Sadie’s hopeful gaze, he said dismissively. “Such things are cheap and worthless.”
Later on, he somehow lost that quill.
I’ve always thought I treated my two sisters equally, but have I really been so vastly different in my treatment toward Sadie and Daisy?
He was lost in his memories when, suddenly, someone pushed open the door to the private room.
Sadie appeared at the door, clutching a screen..
The room fell silent in an instant.
Adonis looked at her and, for reasons he couldn’t quite understand, his previously restless heart suddenly found peace.
It felt like something precious that had been lost but was now found again.
Before he could even speak, Neville was the first to say, “Adonis, didn’t you say you didn’t invite her? How did she end up here?”
Oliver, always quick with a sharp tongue, smiled and said, “I thought after she climbed her way into the prestigious Gates family, she would forget about us. Look. Here she is, rushing back to curry favor. I guess she must have been rejected by the fourth son of the Gates family, huh? What a shame. What a shame! I don’t want someone else’s cast–offs.”
“Enough.” Adonis waited for them to finish speaking before addressing Sadie indifferently, “Since you’re here, why don’t you sit down and have a drink? It’ll save you from accusing us of favoring Daisy again.”
Sadie asked, “Would you believe me if I said I walked into the wrong private room?”

Finished
Daisy furrowed her brows. “Sadie, when did you start enjoying lying so much? Adonis has already shown you grace. Why are you still acting tough!
Oliver swirled the wine in his glass, a devilish smirk playing on his lips. “You’ve brought the birthday present, yet you claim you’re not here for the birthday banquet. What’s this? Do you want us to beg and coax you into behaving? Sadie, have you even looked in the mirror lately? Are you even worthy?”
Sadie had difficulty explaining herself to them.
She was about to turn and leave, but Neville rushed forward in a swift stride, surprisingly pushing her back
- in.
Caught off guard, she stumbled and fell to the ground, tightly clutching the screen in her arms. Frustrated, she raised her head and demanded, “What are you doing?”
“Well… What’s this precious item?” Neville raised an eyebrow, snatching the screen. “Let’s see what kind of gift you’ve actually prepared for Adonis!”
Neville then unwrapped the brocade cloth that was covering it, revealing an intricately designed screen.
The silk fabric was intricately embroidered with golden threads, forming words of birthday wishes. The screen stand, carved out of rosewood, was adorned with entwining branches. The entire screen was exquisitely elegant and grand; it was evident at first glance that it was crafted with considerable thought and
effort.
Adonis was somewhat taken aback.
He stood up and grabbed the screen. “Sadie, is this the birthday present you prepared for me?”
“I’ve already told you it’s not for you!” Sadie denied angrily, “Give it back to me!”
Upon hearing. Neville tightly gripped the hand she extended toward him.
He raised his voice. “Sadie, you brought the birthday present to Adonis‘ birthday banquet yourself, and now you’re saying it isn’t for him! There should be a limit to your nonsense! We must have spoiled you too much in the past!”
He roughly grabbed Sadie, dragging her toward the exit of the private room. “Now that you’ve delivered the present, you can get lost! I can’t stand having you here. Don’t ruin Adonis‘ birthday party!”
“Let go of me!” Sadie struggled forcefully, her wrist aching from the tight grip. “Give me back my stuff!”
Adonis sighed. “Sadie, you’re really out of line. Who else would you celebrate a birthday for, if not me? I’ll accept your birthday present, but I hope you’ll change your ways in the future. You should learn a thing or two from Daisy.”
“Birthday present?”
Suddenly, a defiant voice echoed from outside.
Alexander appeared at the entrance of the private room, followed by a group of scions.
He stood there, a picture of languid indifference. With an air of impatience, he tugged at the gold necklace hanging around his neck, a sinister grin spreading across his face. “Francis, aren’t you scared of courting death? That birthday present in your hands was penned by my brother for our grandmother!”
