Chapter 18 Do You Know Something
All three shots hit the mark.
Cheers and applause erupted all around.
Alexander arogantly lifted his chin toward Sadie, as if asking her what she thought.
Sadie observed his confident look,
If he hadn’t lost the use of his legs in his previous life, wouldn’t he have turned out even more brilliant than Neville?
She flashed a gentle smile. “That was awesome!”
Alexander defeated Neville and successfully claimed the jade pendant.
He held it for a moment, then scoffed, “This thing isn’t even good enough for my sister to look at. Here. Katy, you can have it.”
Daisy stared in disbelief as Alexander handed the jade pendant she liked so much to a maid. She felt utterly humiliated. Her heart ached, and her eyes turned red.
She clutched the corner of Neville’s sleeve, her voice filled with sorrow. “Neville, Mr. Alexander doesn’t even like the jade pendant. Why did he take it away? He even gave it to a maid right in front of me… Is he trying to humiliate me on purpose?”
Seeing how upset she was, Neville felt both pain and anger.
He rushed over to Sadie and shouted, “Did you do this on purpose? Did you ask Alexander to take the pendant just to embarrass Daisy? Sadie, when did you become so mean and cold–hearted?”
He tried to grab Sadie by the collar, but Alexander kicked him aside.
Alexander stood tall and looked down at him. “You couldn’t win the competition, and now you’re taking it out on a girl! Neville, you sure are manly, aren’t you?”
Neville stumbled to his feet but didn’t dare lash out at Alexander. Instead, he glared at Sadie. “This is the second time you’ve let Alexander humiliate me!”
Sadie calmly gazed at him.
Humiliate you? He was just trying to protect me
Then how should I describe everything you have done to me in the past?
Seeing that she was silent, Neville assumed she was scared.
He said coldly, “Sadie, remember this. From now on, I only have one sister, and that is Daisy! As for you, I don’t even know who you are! Don’t ever call me your brother again!”
He knew very well that Sadie deeply cared about her older brothers.
She would even risk her life for them.
If she thought getting close to Alexander would make them jealous and come back to her, he’d make sure she learned her lesson.

She was only pushing him away and making him despise her even more.
Visibly upset, he yanked Daisy to his side. “Let’s go home, Daisy!”
Daisy pulled away. “Neville, I’d like to have a few words with Sadie.”
Neville nodded. “Then I’ll wait for you at the entrance of the Gates Estate.”
Daisy was quite familiar with the Gates Estate. Soon enough, she led Sadie to a quiet lodge tucked away on a slope in the back garden.
The place had a peaceful charm, with simple yet elegant antique furniture.
“I’ve been asking around. I heard you saved a lot of people at Aureum Delicacies, including Alexander. How did you know Aureum Delicacies was going to collapse that day?” Daisy asked.
Sadie looked at her.
She could tell Daisy was testing her, trying to see if she had also traveled back in time.
Sadie didn’t want to reveal too much too soon, so she replied in a gentle voice, “It was just a coincidence. I happened to pass by Aureum Delicacies that day and heard that Alex was dining there, so I went in to find him. I was also a bit curious to see what the inn in Dwarven City looked like.”
Daisy raised an eyebrow.
She knew Sadie wasn’t someone who usually went out much.
Every time the siblings dined out, they never invited Sadie.
Sadie continued, “When I went upstairs, I saw that a beam looked crooked. I casually asked the innkeeper when it was last checked, and he said three years ago. Alex was furious. He scolded them for running such a careless place and demanded they inspect it right away. But the inn collapsed right after we left.
She was certain that Daisy was not as perceptive as Zephyr.
Sure enough, after thinking for a bit, Daisy believed her story.
Sadie held back a smile and quickly changed the topic. “By the way, before I came to the Gates Estate, you said our father and brothers would definitely rise to power. Do you know something?”
Worried that Sadie might uncover the truth and compete with her for the opportunity, Daisy a
Taugh and swiftly left the lodge.
As Sadie was about to leave too, one of her pearl earrings dropped and rolled under the table.
She bent down to retrieve it, and just as she picked it up, she heard footsteps approaching. While hiding under the table, she looked up and saw a pair of black boots with a cloud pattern.
It was Zephyr.
