Chapter 26 He Will Be Successful
In the past, Sadie would always wear the clothes that Daisy no longer wanted.
She was much smaller in size than Daisy, which made the clothes hang loosely on her. Her face was pale and haggard, and she often looked up with a pleasing expression. Standing in the corner, she seemed even less significant than a maid, and her presence was simply annoying to others.
But the Sadie of now…
She wore her hair in a braided updo, adorned with a silver butterfly hairpin. Her pale yellow silk ribbon danced in the cold wind. Her slender figure was like a young willow tree swaying in the spring breeze, while her long–sleeved pink dress highlighted her soft and fair skin. Her eyebrows were delicate, adding a youthful charm to her face. Her checks were naturally flushed, and her eyes were dark and clear, yet shining brightly.
At fifteen years old, she was a delicate beauty who shone like a jewel.
She truly seemed like a young lady who had been delicately nurtured by some royal or noble family.
The Francis family was quiet for quite some time.
Neville clenched his fists, his face a mask of mixed emotions.
Since when did Sadie become so stunningly beautiful?
She didn’t seem like a twin to Daisy at all!
Daisy stared at Sadie, her face frozen in an awkward smile.
In her previous life, she was the one who had returned home for the new year in splendid attire, stealing the spotlight!
It was only because she let Sadie have her way that the latter got the upper hand now!
However…
Recalling that her father would be reassigned to Jamore as a minister in two years and her three brothers would all make a name for themselves, grabbing power and influence, Daisy’s feelings of jealousy and dissatisfaction subsided slightly.
Sadie is oblivious to the golden opportunity she’ll miss, and she’ll only have these two years to enjoy the limelight!
The siblings were each lost in their own thoughts when they noticed Sadie greeting everyone present. She instructed Katy to distribute the gifts she had brought with her.
Although these items were just old relics accumulated in the Gates Estate, to the Francis family, they were still considered valuable treasures.
Oliver wore a complicated expression as he carefully felt the texture of those exquisite silk fabrics.
There were two bolts of white silk that had caught his eye. He thought they were perfect for him. If he were to have them tailored into a robe and wore it out, he was certain it would garner admiration and draw a
crowd…
Sadie had appeared before him at some point, asking gently, “Do you like it, Oliver?”

Oliver immediately withdrew his hand, hiding the joy in his eyes, and scoffed, “I was just thinking tha two bolts of silk are really ugly. I definitely don’t fancy them! Sadie, don’t think that a small favor like thi can buy us over, making us favor you over Daisy. Let me tell you, you can’t even compare to a single finge of Daisy in this lifetime!“.
Sadie’s lips twitched into a half–smile.
Why did this group of selfish jerks think that she was still begging for their love to this day?
Love was the most precious thing in the world, but did this bunch of jerks truly have the capacity to love
someone?
She was certain all they could offer was false displays of affection.
Sadie seemed to sigh lightly. “So, it seems you don’t appreciate the gifts I brought. In that case, I’ll have Katy move these two bolts of silk back to the carriage. I’ll find something better to present to you another day. Oliver.”
Katy was the maid Talulla assigned to her.
Though she wasn’t particularly bright, her strength lay in her unfailing loyalty, honesty, and physical strength.
Upon hearing Sadie’s command, Katy immediately took away the two bolts of white silk.
Oliver couldn’t believe it, his fingers stiffly suspended in mid–air.
He watched, wide–eyed, as Katy walked away with the bolts of silk. Words of protest bubbled up in his throat, but in the end, his pride won out, and he couldn’t bring himself to voice them. Suppressing his anger and sense of loss, he swallowed a large gulp of hot tea with a stiff neck.
He wasn’t yet the same man from Sadie’s previous life, the wealthy southwestern merchant who commanded enormous wealth and power. Hence, he wasn’t able to perfectly conceal his emotions yet.
Daisy noticed his frustration and couldn’t help but walk over, stating seriously, “It’s just two bolts of silk.. Oliver doesn’t care even if you’re unwilling to give them to him, Sadie. As the saying goes, ‘every dog has its day, and don’t underestimate a young man.‘ Who knows? Maybe one day, he’ll be rich beyond measure.”
Sadie looked down and chuckled.
In her previous life, Oliver had high aspirations but not the ability to reach them, especially during the initial stages of running his business. He looked down on this and that, and had no interest in dealing with small–time merchants. He criticized them for their vulgarity and the stench of money they reeked of. As a result, Sadie was the one who handled all the business negotiations behind the scenes.
It was only after his business had expanded significantly that he was willing to sit down and dine with those incredibly wealthy individuals.
In this life, she wouldn’t lend a hand to Oliver anymore. Instead, she was curious to see ho manage to become rich and powerful without her help.
would
Don’t underestimate a young man? Hah! In Oliver’s case, it’ll probably progress to “don’t underestimate a middle–aged man,” then to “don’t underestimate an elderly man!”
She kept her expressions neutral, speaking gently with flattering words. “You’re right, Daisy. Oliver is truly extraordinary. There’s no doubt he’ll be successful in the future.”

After she finished speaking, the butler came over and relayed that Quincy had invited Sarlic to the stud a discussion.
After Sadie left, Oliver slammed the desk in displeasure.
Neville spat out in irritation, “Look at her, walking around with that smug look on her face! Just because the spent a few days at the Gates Estate, she’s forgotten who she really is! Oliver, if she doesn’t want to return to the Gates Estate and begs us to let her stay, none of you should agree!”
Oliver wore a grim expression.
Judging from the way Sadie acted, it seemed like she had no intention of staying at the Francis Estate,
