I couldn’t resist teasing him.
“Wow, so you’ve had your eye on me since I was little?”
Logan’s face turned a little red.
“Too bad we moved away, or I would’ve made sure you never went through all that pain.”
After the Wedding
After the ceremony, Logan and I were driving home when someone suddenly jumped out and blocked the road.
It was Dylan, his eyes red. Even now, he couldn’t accept that I was married.
“Emma, how could you marry him?”
“You liked me, why marry someone else?”
I smiled sweetly and reminded him.
That was the past.”
“The man I love now is my husband.”
But Dylan was losing it.
“No way, this can’t be happening.”
“Emma, please! Tell me this is all just a joke!”
“You’re doing this to mess with me, right?”
“I know I messed up, but I’ll marry you, right now–let’s do it, okay?”
I was done trying to reason with someone stuck in their own fantasy world.
Logan couldn’t take it anymore, and without a word, he got out of the car and gave Dylan a good punch,
If I hadn’t stepped in, Dylan probably would’ve been in worse shape.
After calming Logan down and getting him back in the car, I turned to Dylan.
“You’ve treated our promises like a joke, Dylan.”
“We’ve been over this.”
“You should think about how I spent seven years with you, and how you paid me back.”
“I put up with things you couldn’t even handle, for seven years!”
Dylan lay helpless on the ground, his face clouded with confusion.
As the memories of those seven years hit him, he curled up, sobbing softly.
When I got back in the car, Logan’s voice cut through the silence.

“Don’t worry, habe. Anyone who hurt you I’m not letting them off the hook.”
I paused for a moment, not thinking much of it.
That was, until one day when I went to Logan’s office to drop off lunch.
Suddenly, a crowd surrounded me.
In the middle of it all, Hailey looked nothing like the privileged princess she used to be she was a mess,
Dylan’s mom was there, practically begging.
“Emma. please… Can you talk to Dylan?”
“He’s in the hospital now, and if this keeps up, he won’t survive.”
I found out then that after that night, Dylan had been drinking to cope.
He had recently been rushed to the hospital after drinking so much he caused internal bleeding.
“I’m sorry, but this is a problem for your family, not mine.”
Before I could walk away, Dylan’s mom added,
“Then can you at least get Logan to stop attacking our businesses?”
“We’re not equipped to handle a corporate war like this.”
It was then that everything clicked.
They acted like they wanted me to talk to Dylan, but the real goal was to save their business.
The people who once mocked me and made my life miserable, now they were all forced to apologize to me.
They begged, pleaded for mercy.
But I still turned them down.
I may be kind, but I’m not a saint.
I can’t forgive those who’ve hurt me in the past.
“Sorry, but this is Logan’s business.”
“I don’t get involved in anything related to the Bennett Group.”
“You’ve got the wrong person.”
And why should I let you all interfere with my relationship with my husband?
Logan standing up for me means he cares about me.
And honestly, that’s all that matters to me.
