Chapter 21
I saw Evelyn slowly walking out, wearing a black haute couture gown.
The soft fabric outlined perfect curves, shimmering with delicate rhinestone lights as she walked.
With fair skin, rosy lips, and white teeth, her face blushed with shyness. Her captivating eyes, like gentle knives, almost drowned Reed.
Evelyn was not quite accustomed to it. She was used to wearing smart suits on a regular basis, and this dress felt a bit too restrictive.
Looking up, Reed stood still, blushing and smiling shyly, and asked, “Is it strange?”
“No, it was very beautiful,” Reed’s eyes were filled with astonishment.
Evelyn’s heart fluttered slightly.
Ever since I decided not to suppress my emotions, my heart has been uncontrollably beating.
He must not see this, otherwise he won’t be able to shift the blame.
Thinking, she restrained her expression and returned to her former indifference.
When he came out, it was already dusk.
Riding in a Rolls–Royce, we drove ostentatiously to the entrance of the auction.
The doorman at the entrance straightened his back instantly, preparing to welcome the distinguished guests.
The driver got off the car first and opened the back seat.
A pair of handmade high–end leather shoes stepped out. Reed stepped out of the car.
Afterwards, he bent down and reached his hand into the car, and a pair of delicate and fair hands
were placed on top.
Evelyn’s appearance caused an exclamation from the people nearby, “How beautiful!”
Sitting inside, Martin heard a noise and instinctively turned around.
I saw Evelyn walking slowly, looking astonishingly beautiful.
Martin’s eyes flickered for a moment as he saw Evelyn, seeing her like this for the first time.
His gaze fell to the side, and his eyes instantly grew cold.

Reed felt the gaze, holding Evelyn’s hand, he looked back and raised a teasing smile.
The smoke spread in the air, and the battle raged in the sky.
Evelyn felt a gaze and lightly tugged Reed.
The two of them walked towards their seats in perfect harmony.
It was a coincidence that Martin and Reed’s seats were together.
Martin’s injury had not healed yet, so the original chair was removed and he sat in a wheelchair.
Reed greeted warmly, “Mr. Wilson, are you feeling better?”
Martin nodded and said, “Much better.”
Immediately, he lifted his gaze and met Evelyn’s eyes.
Evelyn froze, unable to say anything, and nodded with a smile as a way of greeting.
As the seats gradually filled up, the auction officially began.
Evelyn was not very interested in the previous few collections.
Until Nell’s painting appeared, Evelyn stood up and looked.
Martin kept a close eye on her reaction at all times and silently stored it in his mind.
“This collection was donated by Nell. It is his early artwork, ‘My World‘. The starting price is
167,000 dollars.”
As the sledgehammer struck, Martin was the first to raise his sign, “334,000 dollars.”
The people around exclaimed in surprise, and the price immediately doubled.
Reed glanced at Martin silently, his eyes narrowed, and immediately raised his sign, “500,000 dollars.”
There was another commotion, and this painting far exceeded the market price.
Martin remained calm in the face of danger, his expression unchanged as he reported again, offering 668,000 dollars.)
Reed chuckled lightly, a hint of displeasure flickering in his eyes, and made another offer of
835,000 dollars.
Evelyn, upon seeing this, furrowed her brows slightly and whispered, “What are you doing? It has

already exceeded the market price.”
Reed gently turned his head and whispered in his car, “It’s nothing, I know what’s going on in my
heart.”
The warm breath brushed past her car, and Evelyn felt a wave of heat, uncomfortably moving away.
Martin, who was standing by, saw it and his face darkened. A blush swept across Evelyn’s car, and there was definitely a hint of ambiguity between the two of them.
He did not blink his eyes, and raised the sign again.
As the offers of 1,000,000 dollars, 1,200,000 dollars, 1,300,000 dollars, and 1,500,000 dollars came
out.
The surroundings had already fallen silent.
Is this the aristocratic family? A 167,000–dollar painting was forcefully pushed up to 1,500,000
dollars.
With a bid from the auctioneer, Reed was determined to win. He glanced at Martin and smiled
arrogantly.
