Chapter 42
The tree leaves outside fell down and floated into the room, landing on Martin’s hand with the
wind.
He slightly moved and held onto the leaf, answering the girl’s words, “She… was the person I
loved.”

He gently placed the flowers on the tombstone.
On the tombstone, Evelyn’s smile was graceful and elegant.
Martin raised the corners of his mouth and smiled bitterly, “Only when you are with him, your
smile is bright and captivating.”
“I saw that you were living a happy and joyful life without me, you were in another world, living
well…”
Speaking of this, his eyes welled up with tears, “I’m sorry…”
The woman who loved her the most, can never come back again.
He touched the photo on the tombstone, his movements gentle and careful, as if caressing the most
precious treasure.
Resting her head on the tombstone, she murmured affectionately.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and his face was covered with raindrops. It was already difficult to distinguish whether they were tears or rainwater.

He moved his numb body slightly and controlled the wheelchair to move.

Suddenly, Isabel’s voice sounded.
Martin turned around and saw a distressed and haggard woman running towards him. She grabbed his hand and asked in anguish, “Martin, I have been looking for you for a long time. My father’s company is in trouble…”
The once glamorous woman, stripped of her dazzling adornments, appeared ordinary.
Looking at this woman, a trace of coldness flashed in Martin’s eyes. He withdrew his hand,
unwilling to pay any attention.
Isabel, unlike her usual pretentious and reserved demeanor, desperately clung onto Martin like she
was pushed into a corner and grasping onto her last lifeline.
“Martin, please, save me, save our company. If you just invest some money, our family can be
revived. Please, I beg you…”
Martin looked coldly and indifferently, saying, “This is your business, it has nothing to do with
me.”
After saying that, he let go of her hand and maneuvered the wheelchair around her.

Martin turned around in astonishment and saw Isabel lying on the ground, with dark red blood
streaming down from her forehead, next to a stone stained with blood.
“Isabel!”
Hospital, outside the emergency room.
George hurriedly came over and said, “Mr. Wilson, the payment has been made.”
Martin nodded and rubbed his throbbing forehead, feeling helpless in the face of this sudden
unexpected event.
