Chapter 22
I woke up and the house was very quiet.
Bruce was also not there. He left her a note, saying that he had something to attend to and had to go
out for a while.
Ivy didn’t care either, she went back to her bedroom after breakfast and turned on the computer to prepare for studying.
Just as I finished reading a chapter, the phone that was placed on the desk started ringing.
She picked up and saw it was an unfamiliar international number. After hesitating for a few
seconds, she still answered the call.
I called out a few times, but there was no response from the other side.
She was about to hang up when she heard Rod’s deep voice on the other end.
“Ivy, I was downstairs at the place where you currently live. Come out and celebrate my birthday
with me.”
Ivy didn’t know why he had found his way here.
Judging from her understanding of him, she knew that as long as they went out today, he would definitely try every means to take her away.
She did not want to see this kind of thing happen, so she refused.
“You went to celebrate your birthday with your mom. She hadn’t seen you for so long, she must have missed you a lot. I didn’t go down, I wish you a happy birthday.”
After she said these words, there was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time.
The only thing left was the increasingly heavy sound of panting.
Ivy knew that this was a sign of his anger.
She didn’t want to argue with him today, so she hung up and turned off her phone before he got
angry.
She stayed in her room all day, focusing diligently on her studies.
The next morning, she finally opened her phone.
After seeing over a hundred missed calls, she remained silent for a while and cleared the records.

For the next half month, Ivy hardly went out
She only joined in when the Woods family had occasional gatherings.
Most of the time, she studied at home and chatted with Bruce.
Days passed by, and soon it was September, the season of starting school.
Three days before the start of school, Ivy and Doreen discussed and decided to move to the
apartment in advance.
Doreen had been trying to persuade, but seeing her firm attitude, I had no choice but to agree.
The next day, the family of three carried double the amount of luggage and sent her to the new
home.
When parting, Bruce did not get in the car.
Looking at the person standing beside her, Ivy’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.
“Don’t you go back with your parents?”
“I won’t go back, I’m about to start school soon, so technically you’re still my senior.”
Until now, Ivy only found out that Bruce was also from Soltharion University.
No wonder he was so familiar with this area.
She looked at the luggage piled on the ground and was surprised to find that it was only hers.
“Did you go to school without bringing any luggage?”
Bruce raised his finger and pointed succinctly across the room at her.
“The apartment you chose happened to be right across from me.”
That was quite a coincidence!
Ivy couldn’t help but sigh a few words, and then she thought about being able to be neighbors with him, a bright smile appeared on her face.
“Well, it seems like I will have to continue bothering you later.”
Bruce picked up the box, his tone filled with cheerfulness.
“You’re welcome.”
