Chapter 61
Chapter 61
“You didn’t even know her, stop screaming for nothing.
He shows no remorse. This man is a monster.”
“Stop screaming and flailing around like a crazy woman!”
“Why?”
He moves dangerously close to me and grabs my cheeks, squeezing them violently as I hold back a whimper of pain.
“You should never leave a single witness alive. Consider yourself lucky–it’s better that she died without realizing it than being eaten alive by my dog.”
His face is utterly demonic, pure evil. It makes me want to vomit. Finally, he releases my cheeks and starts laughing.
“I have gifts for you.”
Paco bends down, rummages through his gym bag, and pulls out a huge bottle of vodka.
“I heard you hate alcohol. Here’s my first gift.”
He opens the bottle and forces it into my mouth despite my protests. The alcohol floods my throat, burning as it goes. He doesn’t give me time to catch my breath, relentlessly forcing me to drink without pause.
He pulls the bottle away, and I spit, my mouth full of liquor. He smirks and pours the rest over my clothes.
“Bitches like you should reek of alcohol.”
He keeps pouring the vodka over my face.
“Stop! I can’t breathe!”
He laughs and finally stops, then sniffs me like a dog.
“You smell so damn good. You know what? Now we’ll see if you’re as tough as you think.”
He hits me in the face again with his weapon, followed by a barrage of punches. He grabs my hair, yanking hard, and slams my head against the bed’s metal bars for several minutes.
I scream in pain and horror. He’s turning my body and face into pulp.
My mind grows foggy from the massive amount of alcohol I just ingested.
I know no one’s coming to save me. Still, screaming keeps a tiny flicker of hope alive–as they say, hope keeps you alive.
His blows stop suddenly, and I gasp for air.
My lip throbs in agony, and the rest of my face must be in terrible shape.
“Why are you wasting time? Kill me! What are you waiting for?!”
“You can still talk? Impressive.”

Chapter 61
He deserved to suffer and die like a dog.
I retrieve the gun from the floor and shoot him in the head.
I’ve seen far too many dead people come back to life.
I walk slowly over to the little girl’s body and crouch beside her with difficulty due to the pain.
I move a little closer and gently close her eyes.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t keep my promise.”
My throat tightens and the tears rise.
I look away so they don’t fall.
I probably already look insane–no need to make it worse by crying in front of a dead body.
I walk over to the dog’s cage.
He’s clearly been abused: one eye bandaged, multiple wounds and burns.
With an owner like Paco, no wonder he became mean and aggressive.
He starts to bark softly. He looks at me with big round eyes.
I sigh in front of this animal that doesn’t seem nearly as dangerous as earlier.
I stand up with difficulty, catching my breath.
“I’m going to have to burn your master’s body and that poor little girl’s.
No one must be able to trace these two deaths back to me. Understand?”
I pick up the vodka bottle that wasn’t completely emptied and pour some on Paco’s corpse.
I’m about to light my lighter but stop my hand.
Every human being deserves a eulogy. I clear my throat:
“Paco, I hope you rot and your bones snap one by one.
I also hope that, even in death, you’ll feel the full intensity of the flames I’m about to send your way.”
I can be quite traditional about some things.
And finally, I set his body on fire–it catches fast.
That was the easy part.
Now I have to do the same for the poor girl.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t save you. I will avenge you so you can rest in peace.
I will kill the person who ordered this, with my own hands.”

Chapter 61
He raises his hands in the air, looking at me in terror as blood pours from his head.
He’s right to be scared.
“I swear to you, you’re going to pay for every single blow you just gave me.”
I tie him to the foot of the sturdiest bed and pull so hard on the knots that he groans in pain.
“Wait! I was just following orders! I didn’t want to-”
I burst into a nervous laugh.
As if I’d let him explain himself.
“I’m going to destroy you, Paco.”
I toss the gun aside to grab the metal bar I dislodged earlier.
“No! I was just following orders! You can’t hit me for that!”
I raise an eyebrow at the audacity.
“You think you had the right to pour vodka all over me and shove so much down my throat I couldn’t breathe? You think you had the right to beat me? You think you had the right to rape me?”
I’m going to destroy him–without mercy.
“And you think you had the right to kill that poor girl?”
I slam the bar straight into his head.
He starts screaming in pain and terror–just like I did a few minutes ago.
“Who sent you, Paco?”
“I’d rather die than tell you!”
“Your wish is my command.”
And I let loose: blows with the bar, with my feet, with my fists-
Everywhere on his body.
The bar quickly turns red with his blood, but I can’t stop hitting him.
His face becomes unrecognizable from the blows.
It’s been so long since I let my hatred take over my reason.
I come back to myself when I realize I’m beating a corpse like a madwoman.
I gasp for breath.
My mind forgot that my body wasn’t in any state to be doing this.

Chapter 61
I pour the rest of the alcohol on her small body and light my lighter, heart heavy,
I walk out of the warehouse to the sound of barking, limping from the pain in my limbs.
The moment my bruised body touches the seat of my car, I let out a groan of pain.
I grab my phone and call Larbi.
I ask him to take care of the dog by calling animal protection.
Every living being deserves respect–especially after what that dog’s been through.
I’m not unhappy that this night is finally coming to an end.
Chapter 61
He grabs the vodka bottle again and pours it over my face. The alcohol burns my wounds like fire.
“It hurts, doesn’t it? I hope you suffer like you deserve.”
“I’ll kill you!”
“You still haven’t begged me to stop. Strange.”
“What are you waiting for? Just kill me!”
“To answer your question, I wasn’t hired to kill you.”
My eye hurts so much I can barely see his face.
“You’re much less pretty than when you arrived. Maybe I went too hard on you.”
“Take off the handcuffs, and we’ll see how confident you really are.”
My words are barely audible. My throat is so tight my speech is almost unintelligible.
“Better keep you restrained. If you saw what I’ve done to you, you might turn into a real threat.”
“Tell me who sent you! Why does this person want me to suffer so much?”
“My employer is the least of your worries, trust me.”
He grabs my hair and yanks me toward him, forcing a kiss. I bite him, and he jerks back, lip bleeding–which only enrages him further.
He forces my mouth open and shoves his gun inside, moving it around until I can’t breathe, then pulls it out with a cruel laugh.
He kisses me again, forcing his tongue into my mouth.
I can’t fight back. He finally pulls away.
“You seem to be suffering inside and out. And yet, you still don’t cry.”
I stay silent, my gaze emotionless.
He gets off the bed, and I catch my breath.
“Your reputation preceded you. I broke you, even after countless warnings about how tough you are.”
“Is that why you were hired? To break me? I’ve been beaten my whole life–your pathetic little wounds don’t even compare!”
He punches me in the stomach.
“I was told to hurt you and nothing more, but why not have some fun? No one will ever know–just you and me.”
Disgusted, I spit in his face. He wipes it off with his sleeve, then leans in, kissing my car before whispering:
“I’ll remember that spit when I fuck you like the bitch you are.”
His hand slides down to my pants, slipping inside to touch my underwear. I feel his disgusting body and pig–like breath on
- me.

Chapter 61
“I’ve never had sex in front of a dog. First time for everything.”
I glare at him.
“You’ll regret this!”
“Sorry, I can’t hear you. Guess the mix of alcohol, beatings, and injuries isn’t doing you any favors.”
He unbuckles his belt, lowering his pants with a wink.
I can recover from the wounds he’s given me–but I’ll never recover from rape.
I’d rather put a bullet in my head than let this son of a bitch violate me.
“I don’t trust anyone, except Maria, Mathieu, and Sam.
A rape would prevent me from ever loving anyone.
I grew up building armor around my heart.
You’ve only seen a glimpse of my childhood.
Rape is not only a physical pain, it’s a psychological one that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
The people who engage in those kinds of acts are the real monsters of this world.
A human being is entitled to freedom and consent–no one has the right to take that away.
Doing so is to dehumanize them.
To me, it’s one of the worst crimes.
So I’ll fight to the end.
Even if it seems hopeless, at least I will have tried.”
After struggling with all my strength, the restraints don’t give way, but I manage to rip the bar off the bed that my wrists are tied to.
Finally! Even I can’t believe it.
Paco looks at me in shock while a surge of adrenaline rushes through me.
I get up quickly from the bed and smash the metal bar still tied to my wrist straight into the middle of his head.
He collapses to the ground, blood gushing from his forehead.
He’s dazed.
The impact from the iron bar seems to have weakened him.
I take advantage of the moment to quickly free myself from the ties.
I grab Paco’s gun and aim it straight at his damn face.
My eyes are still red, my whole body is trembling. A few more minutes and I would’ve broken down crying.
