Declan cleared his throat and moved backwards.
“You you should take off my shirt and put on your clothes.I’ll try to get Stella to leave and then I’ll be waiting for you in my car.Don’t keep me waiting.WeTe already running late. “He warned and walked away.
I quickly changed into my clothes.
I tiptoed to the door and slowly opened it,I peered in and there was no sign of Stella.
sighing in relief,I dashed out of his office and headed towards the elevator.
When I got to the parking lot,I saw him waiting in front of his SUV.
A man whom I assumed to be the driver was already at the driver’s seat.
Get in.”He instructed and turned around to get into the passenger’s seat.
scoffed.
le can’t even pretend to be a gentleman and get the door for me.
When I got in, he drove off.
he ride started off quietly.
We were seated beside each other with a little distance between us.
could hear the shuffling of papers so I looked towards his direction to find him going through the project.
Ie looked so focused and attractive.

“It would.Ive gone through it and I don’t really think there would be a problem.”He said and closed the files.
“You barely looked through the pages.”
“It’s as if you don’t know who you’re talking to,Miss Beckett.”The driver said,cheerfully.”Young master studied at Harvard. He always had straight As since he was a child. And as at 25,he was already done with his BSc and masters.”
I glanced at Declan.
Wow…handsome and intelligent.
“Oh,Brad,you don’t have to say this to everyone.”
“It’s worth bragging about,sir.”
“I hope to go for my masters before I turn 30.”I let out.
“When it comes to intelligent, I’d say you’re average but waiting until you’re thirty,would you ever do well then?”
Ouch.
The admiration I felt for him before disappeared into thin air.
How can someone be so full of himself?!
Does he think he’s the only one who can achieve great things in life?

refused to bring myself to say anything to him after that and neither did he.
After a while, I felt his eyes on me.
Why is he staring at me?
Was there something wrong with me that the asshole wants to point out?!
quickly assessed my clothes.

“I’m not hungry.”I replied but at that moment,my stomach chose to betray me by growling.
I quickly held onto it to muffle the sound.
“You are hungry. “He announced.

What’s it to you jerk?!
He placed something on my thigh.
I glanced at it and realized that it was a sandwich.
My stomach growled again.
“Eat up. We still have five more minutes.”
Thank you.”
This doesn’t change the fact that he’s a jerk.
tore the lid open and start eating hungrily.
I should have asked for water before eating…
gasped,halfway through the snack….most of the bread felt as if they had accumulated on my chest.
Miss Beckett…do you need water?”Brad said stretching it to me with his free hand.
quickly took the bottle of water from him and drank practically half the bottle.
sighed as I felt normal again.
Thank you,Brad.”
glanced at Declan.
‘Are you okay?”He asked, awkwardly.
ignored him and continued eating slowly.
This man is so fucking hard to understand.
The bidding meeting kicked off on a good note.
There were other big companies present.
Me and some employees of other companies were seated at the row chairs in the hallway while Declan and other CEOS were inside the conference hall.
I was called to answer a few questions.
I had felt nervous to be standing in the front of so many powerful men and women but strangely when I looked at Declan’s face….his expression was soft and he actually smiled at me and somehow…it calmed my nerves and I was able to speak,professionally.
But when I got back to the hallway…I got more nervous wondering if this would turn out great for the company.
My job was on the line here!
