The Bastard 2

The Bastard 2

Chapter 2

The air instantly went cold. Quinn’s voice came through with a deadly chill.

“You’ve got some balls, trying to run a scam on me!”

His tone was ice-cold.

“That kid is definitely not mine. Lacey, just deal with her!”

He still didn’t recognize my voice.

I laughed bitterly.

“If that’s how it is, then there’s no point keeping this baby.”

Quinn couldn’t care less.

“Some random bastard from who knows where-better off gone anyway.”

My nails dug into my palms. I never imagined Quinn would call his own child a bastard!

He probably didn’t even know this baby would be his only bloodline in this lifetime!

Quinn has oligospermia. In five years of marriage, we’d never been able to have kids.

The Marshall family line depended on a single heir each generation. When they found out about Quinn’s condition, they totally freaked.

After the Marshall family begged me, I went overseas for IVF treatment. It took three grueling years to finally get pregnant.

I’d planned to come home and surprise him, but turns out his surprise was way bigger than mine!

Just as I was about to call out “divorce”, Lacey hung up with a sharp click

Her eyes were blazing as she slapped me across the face.

“Knew you were just some gold-digging bitch! Trying to pin that bastard in your belly on Mr. Marshall!”

This was the first time in my life anyone had hit me.

I was shaking with rage and hit the emergency alarm button next to the villa.

Lacey didn’t try to stop me, just watched with a cold smile.

“Listen up, you little slut-you obviously haven’t done your homework on what the Marshall family means in Beverly Hills!”

“Slapping you around is nothing. I could beat you to death right here and nobody would dare say shit!”

I stared at her coldly.

Sure, the Marshalls were loaded, but so was my family.

Marrying Quinn was me settling down!

Which of his company’s contract bids didn’t need my family’s backing?

Even the property manager here got his supervisor position because I’d liked his service back in the day.

In less than three minutes, property management showed up with security.

I glanced around, frowning when I didn’t see Frank, the manager I knew.

Just as I was about to speak, Lacey started sweet-talking the head security guard.

“Cousin, this is the bitch! She’s carrying some bastard from God knows where, claiming it’s Mr. Marshall’s kid. I can’t get rid of her!”

Looking at Lacey’s disgusting act, I said with revulsion, “Get Frank over here. Let him see if I’m really Mrs. Marshall or not!”

The guy looked confused.

“Frank’s out of town on business. You know him?”

Lacey spat hard.

“So that’s how you snuck in here-you’ve been screwing the property manager! That baby’s probably his, isn’t it?”

Someone muttered, “Doesn’t Frank have a wife?”

Lacey immediately sneered, “So she’s a homewrecker! Got used up and now she’s trying to get Mr. Marshall to clean up the mess!”

I was grinding my teeth, trying to explain.

“I’m not a mistress! I’m Shea Reed-he was the one begging on his knees to marry me!”

But nobody was listening. They all started mocking me.

“She’s pretty hot, but what a waste being a homewrecker!”

“And she messed with Miss Lacey-that’s basically suicide! Everyone knows Mr. Marshall’s head over heels for Miss Lacey!”

“He even moved her into his house. Wedding bells are probably around the corner. This mistress probably found out and came to stir up trouble!”

Hearing this, Lacey’s face went dark. She grabbed my hair and slapped me repeatedly.

“Bitch, I knew you were up to no good!”

Her sharp nails scratched my face open. Warm blood flowed into my eyes, turning my vision red.

Still not satisfied, Lacey unleashed the dogs, letting the Dogo Argentinos off their leashes.

“They haven’t eaten yet today anyway. This bitch can be their dinner!”
